Grow Mediums Moby an Haze 2.0/coco/T5/SCRog

I'm not completely happy with hydroton as a medium in my net pots. I only allow the base of the pot to touch the water, until there are good roots below, then I lower the res content to in inch below the pots. I'm thinking that placing hydroton in the bottom of the pots, then filling with coco would give the plants a more stable support. I would not be feeding at lll through the medium. Similar to what your doing i think. Do you feel this would work?

To me. . A user of hydroton I think that would work as a more stable base for the bigger plants. . I know I've had to tie my big girls down when they started to lean from the weight of the upper half.. And one fell over once. . With my micro and scrog. . The screen pretty much stabilizes the plant where I don't have that problem. . If that's what you meant

Pop are you doing dwc? Like bubble buckets? You would want I screen of some kind to keep coco from getting into the rez. I flood from the bottom up like any old ebb n flow. With the smart pots to keep the coco where it is.
I need to check your grow.

I think I may lose another plant to freakin stem rot. I'll get picture up soon. It looks like the stem is being squeezed in the middle. That'll put me at only 2 hazes.

Yes DWC in 18 gal. reservoirs. The problem is the smaller 5" netpots are easy to disturb the plants. I was thinking i might have to put screen around the sides of the netpots. just a bump tp the pot and they shift. I was looking for a better medium to support the

sounds to me like your not getting enough drainage IMO

Fixable?

That's a tough one...
I had this problem with a mazar once. It was alive and looked healthy, but completely stunted compared to it's sister of the same age. She got chopped.
I'd use her sisters as a gauge. If she's lagging, chop time.
You could always build up a base around the stem with coco to stabilize her.
She should start to put roots out of the covered stem.

I was thinkin that too. Will that be hazardous ish if its pythium?

If it is pythium, then yeah, it might not be good. Pythium is pretty rare tho.
How do the rest of the girls roots/stems look?

They look alright. That is what happened to the other haze. Root was just much smaller.
