Hi All,

Day 73 Update

I have decided to feed for another week and then start the cleansing process. I've checked again today and there is still nothing amber trich wise, this will take them to 85-88 days at the chop point, so hopefully they will bulk up at little more?

I'm now starting to think about the next grow, maybe a touch premature but, I'm thinking of going organic nute wise (obviously the best way to grow!) and I would appreciate any advice on the commercially available products. Even more difficult is the choice of which seeds to sow, I suppose the sensible option would to mirror what I have done this time, just organically? Any thoughts would most welcome.

Ya may consider a bato system,,what Im using now,way the girls are plumping up,,looking like at least 2 lbs for a yeild! ,pretty simple,biggest pain is changing nuts every week and cleaning pump,air stone and reservoir,, See pics on my NLxBBA grow I have on my page,, ANd building 14 site NFT systen now,,one of the most simole systems to build,,Will post step by step pics and instructions with material list,,most stuff can be bought at local hardware stores

I think for the foreseeable future I shall stick with soil grows, as long as you keep the basics under control (pH, temps and humidity) there is really not a lot to go wrong? Call me lazy but, DWC, ebb and flow etc. yeah great if you're an expert in that field and have, what to my mind is plenty of time. There are some outstanding soil growers here at AFN and one day I hope to be able to hold my own with them!

Day 76

Oh well, impatience got the better of me and I need something to toke on soon and I certainly ain't buying any more dealer crap, so I'm starting the 'cleanse' today when I get home from work. All of the trichs are cloudy now, still can't see any amber ones (although, from what I now understand after lots of reading through threads, auto's don't necessarily show amber!) anyway, most of the fan leaves are turning yellow and curiosity is killing this cat!

I'm going to use straight tap water pH'd to 6.5 (can't believe how much I've spent on bulk bottled water! To that end, I have now got a 100 litre water butt for the next grow.)

Day 80

We have Amber trichs! :check:

I have now done my second cleansing/flushing cycle of just pH'd (6.5) plain tap water and it is the SpeedDevil#2's which are showing Amber! 10-15%. Was really hoping that the AfghanKushRyders could start showing some gold but, at the moment just plain old cloudy! Not that I'm worried, while doing a little tucking of fan leaves to allow maximum light penetration, I inadvertently snapped a lower branch off which had couple of 'popcorn buds'. Waste not, want not! In a way, it's the ultimate sin but, a bit of gentle oven drying and I had a very, very head buzzy evening! I can only imagine what it's like when dryed and cured properly?

I'm planning on the last plain water cleanse/flush in 2 days time and then short, back and sides at the weekend! Any thoughts on keeping the girls in the dark for the last 24 hours before the chop please? I have read somewhere it may be beneficial? Also, letting them dry right out to the point of wilting, or are these just urban myth's?

I was/have tried to post piccies but, each time I tried, strange shite happened!

HI All,

Day 86

Well, the girls had their final cleansing/flush of plain pH'd (6.5) water this morning and I'm getting ready for the chopping/trimming session this Friday evening! Went out and bought and bought a nice new pair of "Bud Clean Scissors", they are supposedly very good for the job in hand? Also a nice bottle of wine to help pass the time, not sure how long this will take, last time I was trimming buds was 15 years ago, there were four of us and after 6 or 7 hours, very sore fingers and wrists, we ended up with over 4lb's (2kg) of dried/cured Early Pearl as an end result!

Anyway, that was in the past and we are now here, at this present time!

Final piccies of the girls/bits and all with their clothes on, next time you will see them, naked! :dance:
