I'm beginning to make a list of things to up my game a bit on the next grow.

I'm gonna be dropping around £500 on a Grow Northern Telos 10 which makes me think I should probably do away with my almost non existent PH monitoring. Is it worth spending on bit on a digital meter? Are the ones for like £60 really better than the ones for £15? Should I bother getting a high quality temp/RH meter?

Also gonna be buying full line up AN nutes, just to see what all the fuss is about (I'm skeptical)

I bought an Apera pH20 after having a cheap pH meter. The cheap one would not stay calibrated but it was better than nothing. I am impressed with the ph20 to be honest. It comes in a nice case with vials of calibration solutions and storage solution, and extra bottles of each fluid. It’s good quality and waterproof in case I drop it in the bucket. My only issue is the instructions for use. Kind of a pain but easy once you figure it out. I couldn’t drop a small fortune on a Bluelab meter so I went with the Apera and I’m happy I did.

i'm still on the lookout for a decent ph probe - the popular one here is the Accurate PH 8 but getting one in the UK seems a bit tough - just as good for coco too. Apera PH20 looks good for fluids but £60

Thanks, yes it's a bit of a splurge but worth it in the long run i think. I want to future proof my grow a bit and the telos series is somewhat upgradable. Looks like a solid well built bit of kit and I just don't trust many LED companies. These guys seem legit and they're based in the UK so if the worst happens, I should think it will be easy to sort. It's tough to find something that will deliver somewhere near what the 600w HPS does. I'd rather splash out initially than keep pissing money away for years on electric bill and upgrades. There's a few people on here that are using them with great results, hopefully i'll end up with something near enough.

Re the PH meter, i think I'm gonna go for the Apera (thanks for seconding that opinion @Beerhunter CDN ) I just want to get something decent from the get go and not mess about with cheapy stuff which is gonna need upgrading down the line anyway.

I'm not going to be upgrading the space any time soon, so might as well just dial it in as much as I can. I'm very intrigued and somewhat nervous to be moving to the big bad world of LED and the Telos will help me feel a bit more confident doing so.

So hopefully by early-mid March the Telos will be pumping away over 2 Zkittles, followed 30-odd days later by 2 Grape Walker Kush.

That's the plan anyway... I might end up going crazy and spending all my dosh in Japan (very possible) and having to wait until the end of March - early April. Not the worst thing that could happen and I've got plenty to smoke. I just feel a lot more comfortable knowing that something's growing away.

It sure is addictive this growing thing eh!?

DAY 70

Sorry for the poor imagery, just a quick one today and there's not much to report anyway.

Buds are getting very heavy so I'm reluctant to move her about too much for fear of snapping a stem. I'll sort some supports this weekend.

The smell seems to have really amplified over the past few days and the whole house is getting a bit of a stink on. Doesn't bother my girlfriend or I too much, but worth noting. The filter usually cleans out the dankest of stank but this gal's really getting her stink on. Much sweeter now and I'm getting a bit of an artificial grape (finally) which is cutting through the haziness. Very, very ,very nice!

Lots more pistils turning quite rapidly and the lower leaves are yellowing off, so it's not beyond the realms of possibility that she'll be done before i leave on the 18th, but I reckon she'll proabably want another week at least to reach full potential so I'll need to leave the flushing process in the hands of my buddy. He lives pretty close so hopefully he's down. I'm gonna approach the subject on Sunday after he's had a pint or two lol!

if I went the route of a big single light versus the cobs, that Telos would be the top of my wish list. Results I’ve seen are amazing.

calibrated both my cheapy pens this evening with 7ph fluid, within the same session there’s discrepancies already

hopefully the canna gods take note and take pity on me until I pick one up myself.

She sure is chuckin' em out! I'm surprised @mephisto didn't do a main release on them, obviously i've not sampled it yet, but I'm very impressed with what they've managed to do here. If it hadn't been going so well and these seeds weren't so hard to come by I'd be less bothered about having to leave them alone for so long, but you can see why I'm getting anxious about leaving them in someone else's hands! I'll be growing out the other seed under the Telos as soon as time allows.

dude that plant looks delicious ....I use a Hanna Instruments Ph meter.....couldn't be happier with it and they have a line for growing too....worth a look dude:smiley1:
