New Grower Mephisto Strawberry Nuggets, 4 Assed Monkey & Fantasmo Express x Sour Stomper

I'm sorry to hear that man! That sucks but at least you caught it?
So far I've been very lucky in my tent with humidity being a big issue. If it wasn't for two small dehumidifiers blowing sterile air over my plants and give my tents regular cleans with safe disinfectants/surfactants I think I probably would have had an issue too.

But lessons learned are never a bad thing in the long run I guess!

fingers crossed for the rest mate :vibes:
Thanks buddy. Yeah, i think I've probably lost like a quarter oz so I'm not too devastated. Everything else is looking good and very nearly there so that's what matters.

The 4AM is dense and dank as all hell, the SNs actually smell like stawberrys and the FxS is a beast. Counting my blessings!

You can probably tell I've smoked a bowl now... :pass:

Thanks dude. Hovering around 50% which I knew was a little high during flower but ya live and learn. The best cola's had it but the rest is still ok, luckily it was spaced out enough to have no spread which is a blessing. Could have been worse.

Need to invest in a dehumidifier. Sounds like you do too!

Man, I have a dehumidifier, albeit a basic one, and a few other things going on to help combat humidity, but am still in the 50's. I have the fans cranked up and my fingers crossed. It's pretty rare when 50's and good air flow still produce rot, but I know it happens. Just a bad luck bud, dude! Good thing you have plenty more!

I am crushed for you! I can’t imagine how it would feel to lose GG this close to harvest. How did you find the rot?

Just woke up from what was probably the worst nightmare where I opened my tent and everything started turning mushy and rotten lol!
Honestly I'm pretty amazed by how scary that dream was, you have my sympathy for even a little of the real deal!

Luckily I was able to calm myself after reading up on bud rot again I realised one of the main reasons I'm full organic is to make bud rot and stuff a little less likely by creating that super soil plant defence which seems to work perfectly once the root systems develop they seem pretty resistant.
Also I've tried the Acti-vera type product and also now the name brand biobizz since the generic was crap and it definitely seems to keep things level and since I started using it just giving them one feed every now and then with nothing but Alg-a-mic, a little Acti-vera and some bloom stimulants and I run that through the soil to lightest runoff and you definitely notice an increase in lushiousness. Root system managed To bind up all pots of different ages with large and robust roots not long after I started that

I just thought I'd mention since you said you would like to move to soil some day, it was another reason I forgot to say when we were talking about Coco Vs soil is that well maintained soil can let your environment be a little more hostile and still get good results and this just reminded me why I haven't gone Coco yet lol too afraid of infection!

I see we're both keeping strange hours today...
Thanks for the recommendation on the Acti-Vera. I've not looked at anything like this before but I think I'll head over to my local hydro shop and pick some up. Obviously I want to ensure I never see this again!

I'm really annoyed about the bud rot, especially on this one. I knew she had the densest cola and so she had a clip on fan directly on her. I've been careful to make sure all the run off is removed straight away and all the rest of it. Just one of those of things I suppose.

To answer your question @davisgirl I only noticed as the leaves yellowed and dried up in a matter of hours so I knew something must be up, not the usual flushing fade that one might expect to see.

Anyway, ya live and learn. I'm just glad it seems to have been an isolated incident and I've not lost too much.

The tent's been cleaned and dried out and I'll be taking everything out of the whole room today to give everything in there a really good clean too. I'm worried about it spreading to the drying buds once they're chopped and hung.

I think I missed the boat on that one sadly. Can't seem to find it in stock in reasonable quantities from a local source. Ripley's is always an option but for some reason it doesn't appeal to me too much.
Northern Cheese Haze would be an option but I'm yet to smoke a Haze I've really loved.

I'm not set on Meph gear by any means, I'd be interested to try a new (to me) breeder. Royal Cheese Auto by RQS is ticking a lot of boxes for me at the moment... I feel like it's my duty as a Brit to try a classic Cheese.

Anyone had an experience with RQS? They seem like a pretty solid auto breeder to me.

Their Blue Cheese sounds good too but they don't offer any indication of height. I have a good friend who is enviably based in California and he smokes almost nothing but Blue Cheese but he's just a consumer and not a grower so can offer no advice and is getting his smoke via a dispensary selling the finest sun grown Humboldt County dope there is. I can't imagine mine will be coming even close.

EDIT: RQS say it's a small strain so that's out of the question. Might be a nice option for a balcony grow later in the year though.
I have seen some nice Dinafem blue cheese grows and also check out big Buddha cheese as they are one of the original cheeses I believe but haven't tried it yet

Oh boy come to think of it I tried big Buddah cheese, it was thay great fluffy yet greasy cheese that got everyone hooked on the stuff in the UK before the market was flooded with horribly grown approximations and sprayed cheese that gave "skunk" a bad name.

Point being big Buddah cheese is actually another cheese strain I enjoyed but it's been years since I've had it. If it wasn't for the obvious smell issues I might have had a go at that one too

Yeah I stress it quite a lot with indoor growing and cleaning. I mean in a country with such perfect conditions for fungi in the winter you just gotta look to your walls, ceilings and windows to see the damaging power of moulds (supposing youre in a old house similar to mine that needs a constant battle to stop the black mould)

Do you know how you're drying yet?
If I were worried of contamination during drying (it doesn't seem too likely air hung in a clean area with good ventilation though) then I would make a air drying box, cut two holes in it to whatever size extractor that's small or can be controlled for circulation if needed once evaporation takes place and a hygrometer for obvious reasons and maybe keep some paper bags/racks handy in case things aren't drying evenly on the stem which can happen (I've observed it already with the smaller buds)

That's what I've got planned for Tildas chop tomorrow since she has such damn dense buds and it worked well for Greta. Hope that helps a little man

It's all been cleaned out now so should be alright but I might make a box as you suggest anyway. Would be good to have something like that on hand and the weekend would be the obvious time to get crafty!
