I did go to my local hydro store to buy some super soil or ffof. But the dude at the store told me that my plants are growing slow because I started them in them big ass pots. So he basically talked me out of soil and told me to start using solo cups or peet pellets to start my seeds. He said coco is the way to go.
I've learned not to ask the guys at the grow shop for advice.

LOL, yeah I’ve heard some people get pretty shitty advice. Some hydro shop guys are bad ass growers to be fair, but from what i’ve noticed they aren’t the ones handing out advice unless they get to know you.

I am going to try 1 gallon pots. I have plenty of time so I want to be able to feed more often. These 3 Gallon pots take awhile to dry out. I am getting the rapid rooter plugs or peet pellets and a fresh bag of coco. Then I am going to buffer it even though it says already washed and buffered.. Does anyone use the peet pellets? I am curious about the fabric that surrounds the peet pellets. Do the roots get caught up in the fabric? Or do they grow right through them?

I was also looking at those jiffy pots that say you can plant them inside a larger pot to avoid transplant shock. Do these work also? The reason I ask Is because I can't think of anyone ever mentioning them or using them.

Look into some Rapid Rooters very easy to use. Simply soak em for a day squeeze em out and drop the beans in. Put in a Tupperware and mist daily. I have great success using rapid rooters. Once you see a small tap root from the bottom transplant.

Hey bud. Coco grower here. You can totally do it. Gotta get those pots properly flushed though. I don't think any of your issues are light related. It'll take a couple gallons of feed per pot to get them level. Never trust coco to be properly buffered for autos. Usually seems to come around 600-900ppm out of the bag. Next thing is your water quality. Do you know anything about your source water?

I've had better luck with the 1 gallon plastic bags then 1gal fabric bags. I think the plastic bags stay a little wetter since they're forced to drain from the bottom instead of the easiest spot for it to drain from

Also those black edges could be genetic. Cldc is pretty often a black/purple plant. And no need to buy fresh coco, just pull out the roots, flush and buffer it yourself. Cool things about coco is it's reusable and it's easy to "reset" it

I start my plants directly into 10 and 20 gallon pots of soil, that guy is most likely looking to make a sale. Just know coco and soil are totally different so you're gonna need to do some research if you switch.

I am using RO/di water comes out as 0.00 ppm. I just did a flush smh. I shouldn't have to flush 3 times in a month right? Anyways I am giving these ladies another week to take off. Then I am just going to start fresh. The only thing I can think of that fudged this grow was super low Rh when they first sprouted. It was 30/40 percent. Now I have a humidifier but it may have been too little too late idk. They definitely ain't Growing...
I ran 150ppm of Cal Mag and 150 ppm of grow nutes. And flushed 3 Gallon of feed through the 3 Gallon fabric and. And you are right. These fabric pots just let the water out wherever they want. I might try those plastic bags from HTG.
