So I will be bringing this old thread back to life with a new round of mephisto girls under the black dog I will be growing two Deep Bleu C Mitch picks and two double grape. Then once my current grape crinkles finish up two more will be going down. I will be used roots organic original for the first time ever .

Great looking plants, can't believe the number of grows I have read where the cat either eats or destroys the grow,I going to be keeping a watchful eye on mine lol, when you say water stress them are you saying above and beyond letting the pot dry out between feeds, good luck with the new girls

This run was a water only run no bottle nutrients just top dressing. And I let them get so dry to the point they start to wilt a little from lack of water then I hit the with some water and in a few hours they go back to normal. It a technique I learned from my grandfather and I still use it from time to time. The argument in my family about this technique was a heated debate. But I have seen some really good results from it. Stronger smells and extra frost production. Not sure if their is any proof behind this method but I've seen first hand it works.

But my grandfather wanted tough plants when breeding so he would do this to plants he thought about breeding and if they couldn't handle it he wouldn't breed it. He also had a plot of land he planted in the 60s and never harvested any from them he just let them go naturally he returned to the old plot in 72 and all the different plants that were originally put their turned into one strain after 8 years of no human contact. And it was one bad ass strain to big tough and supper strong for the time.

Thanks for the reply and info, nothing like a good family debate lol, I can easily buy into the idea ,I am starting my first grow soon (I would say I am a decent non canna grower) so I think I will put it to the test along with some other ideas I have been reading about ,one plant go simple and the other play about with ,thanks for sharing
