Indoor Mephisto & AutoPots

Heads up, I made mistakes. Using the smaller autopots this grow myself

Check out my grow in my signature and we'll see what its like to downsize from the small autopot to even smaller 1g containers. And no automated autopot feeding either. But the pots I chose fit in autopot trays and would be able to pull water just like autopots do - I think. I am excited to see how it compares.

I don't plan on using the autopot irrigation for this grow, but you never know how things might change. If I go away, at least I have the option.

Are you all doing coco in the autopots? Just curious if anyone runs real soil.
I've only ran straight coco, but others are running a soil mix in theirs @pop22 does one where he has just cut out the stump and replaced with seed for next round of grows.

Is that meant as a caution for using small pots? Or just a heads up?

Looks like it shows that the pots will air prune as long as you have something like a grate under them. That’s one important thing is not to let the fabric pots sit in water, metal mesh shown in that thread is a great idea

Here is one of my Chemdogging seedlings at day 10.
“It only looks big because I have small hands” :funny:
Seriously tho, she does look wee but I can’t hurry nature. I checked in at the live stoners forum and was advised 1 gram of MegaCrop per gallon is fine to start feeding the babies so I’ll start giving the gals some juice.
I still didn’t get to the store for worm castings for the tea so tomorrow it is. I want to get some microbial action of the good kind going on these gals :woohoo1:

is that soil or coco or peat? Peat plug in a solo cup of coco/perlite?

Here's my schedule for GL nutrients for a hyrdo/coco grow. The numbers come from recording what a few people were doing with megacrop testing and autos a while back. I just borrowed the data.

Since autos are so fast and you can't nurture them in veg until they are ready I believe you want to get on the nutes day 1. I try to get seedlings in an optimal environment right out of the gate.

I checked out your thread, great set-up!

No-till gardening I think that is, there are some really intriguing techniques going on, including companion planting and other nifty nuggets.

They are coco plugs, and planted in 50/50 coco/perlite supercharged with CalMag and a light feed of Kick Start from Grotek. I hate peat plugs but these seem better, I still may skip them next time as I still worry about plants growing properly. Root Riots seem better but I thought I would use up a few plugs since I have so many. Better to use them on the veggies.
They are in large yogurt containers that have large slits cut in the sides and the bottom, and inserted in a second container so I can just plant the whole inner container with no root disturbance.
Thanks for the chart, it looks like a great reference tool :toke:

Maybe somewhat like that but he's in autopots and feeding straight megacrop from the res.

I've used soil mixes for a long time in auto pots. Both all organic and now fed megacrop. My soil has 30% coco in most pots, straight soil in 2 pots fed mega, which I just harvested. I've also run straight Fox Farms Ocean Forest in auto pots too, with good success.

Thanks for the replies, do you have a thread with the comparisons of the mixes you are using @pop22 ? I will look around and see if I can locate it too.
