Indoor Mephisto & AutoPots

I'm in the battle with you and also the mephisto one. I plan on copying my updates over later to start one so I'll tag you in :)

I missed the Mephisto battle and really behind on the light battle but I'll see how these gals do, they look small for day 5 but I hope they take off in the next week.
I got your tag and replied, thanks :smoking:

I'm sure they'll take off 2nd week :)

I'm not expecting to win anything but it's fun being involved. I'm going to try and grow a perfectly symmetrical one for the lighting or general battle, can't compete size wise ha

That's a good idea, maybe I'll try for the most gorgeously trained, I got a photo haze going now that is a stunner, she's like a work of art but once she flowers it's gonna be a hot mess in that tent  I know the autos will be much more tame and trainable :naughtystep:
It's always fun no matter what, I love seeing how other people's grows are doing.

I've yet to do more than defol and leaf tuck on my previous grows, may get a bit more adventurous this time round. Look forward to seeing how you go with it :D

I'm a bit TOO adventurous but it's fun and even if I mess up, I can learn from it and be publicly humiliated, I mean, others will learn too :crying:Probably what NOT to do... I'm gonna be pretty cautious at first with the Auto's as I'm new to them, if you wander over to my photo thread you'll see some weird stuff as time goes on. I gotta update both these threads tho.

I dig that airdome idea.....why pay big bucks plus shipping off internet if you can make one that is just as good if not better! nice...

My OCD is in love with your MC all portioned out like that:woohoo1:

I used to make everything as I couldn't afford to buy anything, now I buy too much and I need to go back to doing more. Since I'm off work for a bit I have more time than money so I need to go back to my roots and get creative :chef: (Ha only emoji of making something)!!
I actually have pretty bad OCD and anxiety issues, so this helps me stay organized and have one less thing to worry about. My grow room is a mess too, I have to organize it better but there is so many more fun things to do in there!!

I'm going to start my first auto grow in probably 2 months so I figured I'd tag along and see how yours goes to get an idea of what to expect.

Oh god the pressure is on, I'll make sure to make note of what NOT to do
I'm pretty new to auto's but not photo's or plants in general, my problem is not leaving things alone cause hey, everything can be improved on! (slight sarcasm)
I've made a lot of mistakes with this philosophy but I have fun and learn along the way. Good to have you tag along, I hope you get something from my journal. There are lots of great growers on the forum, you will find what you need on AFN :smoking:

Heh heh what you said :eyebrows:
Mine will be too wee to compete, but maybe I'll win for "most mangled hot mess" :crying:
Hey if I can't laugh at myself, well, I can be a shithead and laugh at other people....
I just want to see these wee ones grow up strong and healthy and continue to learn and refine my skills as time goes on.

Just a small update, as there isn’t much going on yet in the room. I’m having pythium issues in my DWC setups with my photos, but I’m putting this in here as I’m going to use this stuff in this grow too. I know nutrients not targeted at cannabis are much cheaper, but I needed something water soluble for my Hydroponics. I’d normally use Myke for anything mycorrhizae related in anything non-hydroponic.

Heisenberg tea has been mentioned, and come up in searches a few times so I thought it wouldn’t hurt to add it to this grow too. It’s an organic tea brewed from beneficial organisms, but I need worm poo still to make it that I will pick up tomorrow or Monday. It’s hard to find a lot of nutrients/pesticides etc. in general in Canada but I got this stuff local and added it to the res until the tea is made (hopefully tomorrow as it has to brew for 48 hours). So far things look good and the plants seem to love it already just on its own.
I love me some fungi  Water is a weird grey colour and foamed, smells kinda freaky in a good way tho. But I actually enjoy the smell of most of my nutrients so who can account for my taste in anything? And no I won’t be drinking the tea myself. I’m weird, but not that weird.

So we are at day 8, and I still feel these babies are going slow but seem to be picking up. I have some suspicion they may have been too close to the light, or some mild nute burn as can be seen on the tips of the first leaves. I usually don’t add anything to seedlings but read coco should be supercharged with some CalMag and mild nutes. I did test run off before planting and EC and ppm were good so it’s not the coco. Next time I’ll have the tea or something else added instead so there are good microbes but maybe back the additives of anything else off until they have their second set of true leaves. I usually don’t even think about it until the cotyledons are mostly used up but I’m new to coco too.
New leaves look good, with no burn or malformed growth so I’ll just feed with water at 5.8-6.0 pH and add the tea when it’s ready.

Grapey Walter above, Strawberry Nugget below in the autopot; she looks the same as the seedlings in the smaller pots but I’m a bit more inclined to think the lights were too close as she’s burned more at the tips and was closer to the light due to the AutoPots height. Chemdogging look identical to the Walters.

That's it for now, as things pick up it will get more interesting. I promise. :coffee:
