Indoor Mephisto & AutoPots

Interesting. Growing is never black and white. And the more information that gets shared the better it is. One thing I like about coco and RO water is there is really no grey area when it comes to nutes. I'd be scared shitless to use artificial nutrients and soil at the same time. I wouldn't know what to do or how much to use. At first anyway. What total day is your autos on? I know you said day 15 of flower. So is that about day 45 total?

Here's a size comparison from the burnt one to the one that received 1/3 nutes it's entire lifecycle. (Other than the humates and myco start mixed in with the promix/coco/perlite mix), I'll add pictures of the rest of the plants to my log today. I mean, the burn doesn't LOOK that bad, but I feel like it's really significantly slowing down my growth rate. I flushed it pretty hard with 6.3 water today (ph'd down with squeezed oranges lol) and am hoping for the best with it at this point. I might go back to my old organic line up for it.

Yeah you're pretty bang on with age as well. They all sprouted (roughly) on the same day, Jan 18. 43 days out of ground since then, planted them all with about a half inch taproot after good ol' shotglass to papertowel method of germination. I don't really count germination as part of its lifecycle lol. They gotta make it out of the soil first for me :P

Nugs and growth rate is significantly smaller then the fat nug one but it could be genetics combined with the nutrients? I'd never heard of Oasis Genetics before this attempt at autoflowers (2 for 1 sale haha) and they're supposed to have a pretty long 8 week flower time, but looking at that one nug I'll be surprised if it's 8 weeks haha. I'm 6 foot 160lbs for size comparison to my hand. Idk though, learning auto's has definitely been fun. Impressed with the crystal and resin production so early with the one I named fatnuglady especially hahaha.

If I was you, I'd cull them all and start again.

  • I've grown out plants that looked like yours and was never happy. They were stunted and they took to long to mature and ripen. What a waste of time, electricity and talk about frustration.
  • I've had a 10 seed grow going that I messed up while seedlings that I culled around day 20 because they looked like a possible repeat of before and I was so much better off doing that.

Its early still so no lost time if you cull now. And beans are cheap in the overall big picture. Plus you have local friends who have lots of Mephisto beans in stock if you're low.

I really think you should cut bait and do a re-do.

Man I'm starting to think about that for this one out of the 6 that may be either ultra weak genetics, or a freak photoperiod in a bunch of seeds from an auto momma, which I've heard happens.
Is Mephisto really that deep into the Autogame, I lurked them a bit on the forum and their genetics seem pretty freakishly strong for autos haha. I just ordered 5 Ghost Toof and got 5 Deez Nuggs locally, getting on the hype train I guess lol.

The bud in that first pictures looks small for day 43 to me. Other pictures look not bad though.

I have grown autoflowering genetics from Sweet Seeds, Dinafem, Dutch Passion and Mephisto. I find Mephisto genetics are the strongest to me. As in they kick in to flower sooner and produce better buds and trichs. Will be interesting if you find that too when you grow some. Tag me when you do start them.

She’s a grower not a shower! Haha! I wish I’d caught up on your thread earlier, I laughed so hard ...

I’m feeling pretty glum about this grow myself. A couple false starts have got me down and the situation with my Ripleys OG. Everybody has huge plants and I have Crispy:

I’m going to keep her. Fuck, I should have picked her as the battle plant, they never would have seen that coming.

I'm glad you were amused, I haven't seen you in a bit and was wondering where you wandered off to. I think I may have scared a few viewers away but hopefully not, I can get a bit bawdy at times to put it lightly. Life is so serious sometimes, I have to let it out.
I wonder if they will be showers in the end? :eyebrows:
Poor crispy, I hope both our runs of bad luck end soon. Everything was great for so long, like I've grown on and off for years and then BOOM land mines everywhere the last few months. Oh well, as they say shit happens.
HA battle plant, I almost picked my weird little Strawberry Nugget because I'm sure I won't win and sometimes the runts explode.

Personally I like roughly 95% coco and 5% hydroton. I don't like perlite. You can have mine. Perlite is not the problem obviously. But still the stuff sucks! I didn't realize you were using Greenleaf. No need to change that other than your strength. Did you see my mega crop feed schedule? i think I posted it in this thread earlier.

I'd absolutely do a re-do just because of the pet store coco and plugs being possible smoking guns. And use Canna coco precharged like I said and use the solo cups. Canna did a study on coco and concluded that coco should always have a min of 600 ppm feed water every time. Once you're in solo cups of coco put a clear cup on top for a dome until they sprout. Then top water about 1 oz a day of 1/2 strength (use my chart) nutes for about 2-3 days. Then switch to full strength and dunk and bottom feed to get that tap root down to the bottom of the cup, until day 10 from sprout. Then its transplant time. And use small pots. Oh shit, you're using the big ass autopots. I cut mine in half and also bought the half size as well and even those were too big. So I bailed on autopots for now. Probably forever. I'm not really a fan of them now.

I helped a local guy who was using HP promix and the same lights you have. He was getting lame shit assed advice from Incredigrow and Quickgrow. I do business with them both because i like the personal experience and supporting local businesses, but I find they don't know shit. A lot of their products and growing advice is just not with the times. Amazing Hydro is better. This guys grows just sucked before. Once he switched to to this method he was so happy with the results. Then he liked my autopots so he bought in to that and did really well with them too.

Yup I have your schedule thanks, but I'm a bit hard assed with additives. I should try and just use the simple stuff on the auto's tho and keep my anal fert routine to the photos. I know it's different with auto's so I can always add things back in later but so far I've seen great results with auto's on this forum from growers using the GL products. I do love my Fulvic and Humic acids tho and I'm brewing some tea as well.
I love the local grow stores too, but yes the advice can be geared towards selling product especially AN I've noticed. I am a bit hesitate to start again as I don't have room left if these gals take off. But I can always pick the best plants and cull anything else.

Sometimes you gotta switch some to 12/12 if they don't flower, but if it is flowering well then it just may take longer to finish. Mephisto is the first Auto's I've grown, other than some other seeds I got from a buddy that all were males. Just keep at it

Ha! You will need to try harder than that to scare me off!

I had the hardest time the past few months getting seeds to germ and getting seedlings to stay alive. Things I had done before, but It just wasn't working. It was driving me crazy. Felt like I lost my "grow mojo". But I stuck in there, looking like Sybil changing this and that. Killing seeds in the process. Sigh. I FINALLY got some ladies going good, but I still check them every morning amazed they are alive.
Seems a lot of growers had to deal with things the past few months they never dealt with before. Maybe we can blame it on the rotation of the earth, the position of mars, or the ocean tides? Or maybe we all need to start our grows with a "cannabis dance" to the grow gods?

OMG I watched that show religiously back in the day :crying: Looks like you're like me, the humor of a 14 year old boy trapped in the body of a "way to old to be acting this way" woman HA
Getting old is inevitable, growing up is optional :smoking:

Umm hmmm :crying: caught you peeking
:size:

HAHA another one!! I'm a peeping Tomette :eyebrows:
I recently bought an 8 outlet pump and it's huge, it satisfies me to gaze upon it.

Well I recently heard about sun spots decreasing lately, maybe it's that. It's odd a person can grow on and off for years, and then get hit hard suddenly. But I have been growing non-stop for a couple years now so I think I just got lucky, shutting it down time to time saved my skin earlier I'm sure. Plus I was a soilless grower before, so I'm enjoying working with that media again. I'd like to try actually organics and soil in one pot and see how that goes but can't hook it to the main res if I do.
I know the pests were my fault for coming home exhausted, and not quarantining clones :baghead: I either brought them from work or in the clones.
The root rot was bound to happen not running preventatives in the res, so I got away with that for almost a year. Can't say any of that is "bad luck" I guess since I probably got away with murder overall!
If I dance the plants will laugh to death, maybe I need to sacrifice something to the cannabis gods on a regular basis :warrior:

High time for an update on this grow, all’s well just been busy and gotta catch up on things in my grow too, need to transplant three more of my Meph gals.
I decided to keep them going, I think I’ll learn more just pushing through rather than starting new ones.
Low temps at night have really been not helping either, but I can’t do anything other than the weather is warming up now so that will help. God that was a month of horrid, frigid temps.
First up is my Heisenberg tea, here are pics of the stuff I found in Canada, it’s out of the order I want but they upload in the sequence that I take them.

Wondered why the surface of my buckets looked naaaaaasty, turns out it’s probably the biofilm meaning all’s well (I hope) :cooldance:

Still small, but it is what it is at this point I’m gonna just roll with it.

These gals seem to grow faster in the smaller pots, but will need transplanting today.

Only thing I could find in the store to use instead of the ZHO powder from Botanicare was this.

Well that’s all new and exciting here, I hope these grow taller than a foot before going into flower. Please. :face:
I’ll be hitting them with some nice nutes when transplanted, they already like the increased feeding. Thanks for the chart @lunarman :cool1:

Hey awesome they look happy and healthy. I’m going to look into this Heisenberg tea, can I use it in hydro?

I used that blue sky mycos powder too. expensive stuff. I switched to some much cheaper stuff available at garden centers in the area for $10 a big tub.
