New Grower Mephisto and Night Owl in Living Organic Coco

@IDontExist and @Mañ'O'Green ...... Sorry to disagree but the plants at 21ish days old are not up to speed and the color is not right ..... I’m not trying getting down on you, just the opposite I’m trying to help you improve and have some nice buds X weeks / months away .....

Here is a pic of a mephisto Battle Plant per journal at 21 days old ..... I have day by day growth of her indoors in bagged LOS .... click on link and look and go back a page or forward and follow a day by day update

@Mañ'O'Green Organic Growing inside is just the right bag of soil away ..... I too have grown organics since 1978 and have just a few indoor grows under belt and only really one since Reagan Days .... to state you can’t do it inside is wrong sir.

Peace,
OB

So you have 40+ years of experience and picked a picture of your biggest/best plant to show me mine aren’t up to speed? Please remember this is my first grow ever, I’m not expecting to pull 12+ oz from a plant.

This is probably wishful, maybe delusional thinking but I’m hoping those lights are making the plants look more yellow than they are as Slow said. If you look at the 2nd picture when he’s blocking the light a bit the DG in the middle looks greener than it does in the 3rd picture, at least to me.

I’m going to let them all grow and see what happens. If I get 1-3 zips a plant and learn a few lessons on the way I’ll be happy with that. If those small shitty ones only produce a few grams I’ll roll a blunt and think back on all they taught me.

The 3 you "almost threw out" are way behind normal and you admit that you have gnats. That alone is reason enough to those 3 out. Are you doing anything to get rid of them? Besides yellow stickies? Knowingly having pests should be in your very first post. If you want help from others, you have to disclose the negative aspects or we can't properly help you to fix your problems. I had to assume that you had gnats, because of the picture. They could be one of the causes of your problems. Until you address that issue, nothing else matters. Go buy some Mosquito dunks and crush them up in your Coco. Keep your place clear of runoff. If you think you know the source of the gnats, get rid of it. Don't use that Coco if you think it has pests. Good luck, slow

I noticed the gnats at the beginning when the tent was super humid and the pots were overly wet and not drying out. Since then I let the pots dry out and corrected the top layer of medium being constantly wet which I’ve read will often solve the problem. I also added the yellow cards and made sure air movement over the plants was good as suggested online. The last couple weeks I can count on my fingers how many I’ve seen and there aren’t any on the yellow cards. As I said before I have some neem oil I’m hesitant to use because of the low numbers, but if I notice them picking up again I definitely will.

You should buy some Mosquito dunks and crush them up and sprinkle on the top layer of Coco. Gnats go in cycles. So they might pop up again in a few weeks without intervention. Yellow cards are a great start, but if you have larvae in the Coco they will keep breeding. Keeping the top dryer will help, but won't get rid of them completely. One last piece of advice. You stated that you water your plants around the Stem, working your way Outwards. That is the opposite of how you should water Coco. I have mentioned it multiple times in this thread alone, but a lot of people like to do things backwards around this site. Water Coco around the Outside of the pot. Working your way INWARDS towards the stem as they grow. Watering next to the stem is counterproductive and will not give your roots a reason to SEEK moisture. Don't be a part of the Monkey See Monkey Do crowd. People copying other people's mistakes is way too common. Think about what you are doing and why. If you need any help, pm me. Otherwise, good luck.

Brother I’ve garden outside with tomatoes and lettuce for over 40 years not indoors until last fall and I had three other plants that I showed but they were in cloth pots ...... Showing you the difference between cloth pots and the EarthBox ..... Watch Slow and his grow - His plants are about the same age as yours .....

Anyways good luck in all your ventures.

Bye,

So you don’t like the neem oil? I read about using mosquito dunks and kinda quickly moved on because it seemed like it would be a bit harsh or chemically, but I didn’t do any research on them. If they work better and do no harm I’m on board. I’ll treat when I’m over there in a couple days just in case they’re cycling up like you said, thanks for the advice.

I totally understand that you want the roots of a seedling to seek the moisture and you don’t want to water right on the stem. But in my mind I’m thinking it makes sense to circle just outside the roots, increasing the circle as the root zone grows so they have to keep reaching. If I water just the outside I’m picturing them not being able to reach water because no matter how bad they want it the roots just aren’t there yet.

In my first picture with the seedlings it looks like I watered right on the plant. That moisture is the 1 oz water shot I gave each seed when I planted, still wet 5 days later. At the time that picture was taken I didn’t water yet, and wouldn’t for another 3-4 days.

I’m not trying to argue with you but you only posted the other pictures after ManOGreen said something, and when you posted those pictures you said “As you can see the SIP Container makes a difference but also she was not a freak .....” But then just a few days after the picture you posted here was taken you post in your thread “This seed is either a freak or Mephisto Genetics has created a monster cause this girl is growing.z”

Again, not trying to argue but I think you coming off a bit more unfair than you’re intending. You stated my plants weren’t up to speed then posted a picture of your biggest plant not grown in a fabric pot, rather than one of the others that is which would be a much better reference. When I compare my plants at 12 days to the other plants you have in that picture they seem awfully close, and I believe that would put them at the same age.

I appreciate the well wishes and hope my plants looks half as good as that Gold Glue at the end of this rollercoaster.

I meant to ask if you meant lower the power or physically lower them? Right now they're about 22 inches away from the top of the pot, they were about 25-30 thousand LUX last measure.
I meant to lower the fixture to make the lights closer to the canopy.

GroBro ..... Lets start again and please understand I am only trying to help, no matter how I come off is perceived .....

All this started when I suggested a different growing method, right? Yes I believe is the answer to that question .....

Know I am a HUGE advocate of LOS (Living Organic Soil) so anything I say will be towards LOS .....

For starters you want something simple and easy to tend for .... LOS is just that - Follow slowandeasy grow but I’m telling you there is no PH to worry about, within reason obviously..... no mixing up nutrients every day or whatever .... LOS is by far and away the simplest, hands down Brother ....

LOS Grown pot is the most expensive and best pot available- undisputed- go to a dispensary and ask for it - costs more .....

Earthbox is way to grow - I won’t do cloth pots again, even though I have had success ......

SIP Container was grown as a battle plant, Sam took first place - even a couple growers in the Battle voted for Sam .....

As to mention of freak or not, that my friend is splitting hairs .... I don’t have enough weed growing experience to really know .... And Mephisto never released Sam’s Crack so I really don’t know .... I suspect not and when I dial up a new Grow 3-4 weeks from now we will see .....

Also understand I am really good at outdoor growing of flowers and plants and love Organics, I even had a rotor tilling biz back in Carter Days - Used a Troy built Tiller .....

I have a few more girls I grew in cloth pots ..... Strawberry Nuggets which I Flippin love on left and 3 Bears OG ..... these where in a separate tent and not much time spent on them but again LOS Soil .....

I will not brother your thread anymore unless you ask for help otherwise I feel I am wasting my efforts - I know zip / nada / nothing about coco grows, that would be @slowandeasy speciality .....

To recap, if LOS is of interest, hit me up otherwise I will just be watching and hope your White Crack is in a photo finish with Slow, which is doubtful due to bugs ...... After all it is all about growing here!

Goodbye / Peace,
MOB

Plants were about 2 weeks from harvest in the pics!
