New Grower Medimadness’ rotating garden of lunacy.

@wes sorry man pretty thick with a head cold and completely forgot to get back to you about days left for Val.

Well so far she's 41 days in and from what I've seen online she can go from 65-80 days but with the rates she's developing it's hard to say but I reckon she's 2 thirds done or a little under that. She's putting a lot of energy into flowering now and will be switching to bloom/ topmax nute solution in the next few days (just gotta wait until she's definitely done vegging).
Only one way to find out and wait and see. At least I'll have a little guidline for Tilda!

@Rollin_along That is a great idea actually! Might give that a try when bending more delicate parts of the structure to give a little more control.
The way I tie the string takes a little practice to do without snapping the stems or pulling things and takes a bit of dexterity I don't always have so I think the closes peg would eliminate a lot of the risk

Oh and I have life after 2 days in soil on the white widow (Broomhilda). Very quick start.

Blue 2 (Tilda) coming along nicely now with second set of dev. Leaves

Update on Blueberry No. 1 Val, Day 41 in soil. She's really liking the extra space given and I had to adjust the LST I put in yesterday just a little as she's growing into it.

I also raised her on a baking tray to make the most of the smart pots now that she'll be rooting a lot more near the bottom at this stage in an 11.8l pot
IMG_20181114_150542.jpg works great

And also the critical cheese Greta, adjusted the LST I performed on the side branching and have evened her out even more as a result. Loving her appearance.

Fed her again today, she's starting to drink like mad. As is Val, who seems to go through a litre overnight with only a bit left. Am slowly increasing amount of water given.

When do you guys think I should switch Val onto the bloom regimen BTW?

@NiceOption Of course mate, happy to help. Best advice I can give is only bend when you notice growth is really speeding up (helps the rallying effort after bending) and on healthy plants and its hard to go wrong as long as you take the whole day to do it. You could force things but it's better to know the individual plants stem structure first. Like the critical cheese isn't as hollow and less woody than the blueberry so I can bend her in one without coming close to snapping. She's more likely to end up a supercrop bend than snap. But the blueberry is almost 25% hollow inside and a bit woody and will snap if I don't do the bends throughout a 16hr period.
Besides from that LST is one of the more creative aspects of growing veggies and you can have fun with it, only real way to learn too is mucking about.

Let me know if you have any specific questions though man, plant training is one of the few things I actually learned at college that hasn't been useless lol

Just a little day 42 update of developing flowers of Val.
upward growth is slowing a little now and so i’m going to be switching over to a bloom feed in the next couple days, along with a little calmag as a preventative and also a little top max.

My feeding schedule has been pretty tailored and since i gave her a bit of a flush already when i noticed a little tip burn i’m not going to bother with a mid grow flush through with her

she is looking really good. gave her last feed of grow nutes today

i would say Val was ready for the bloom, baby!

cheers dude, appreciate it.

and yeah i thought so, i gave her a last little bit of grow today with a bit of top max and will switch her to bloom tomorrow

Another quick update for Val here, just added a little staking to the two biggest colas to give them a little support for budding since they’ve been bent so much and have many many side branches. (s

Just broke my favourite bubbler after spending a half hour and a lot of iso cleaning and now pretty bummed out, so at least i’ve got some pretty plants to look at

peace and love

update for Critical Cheese Greta day 31,
i adjusted the LST on her adding two more stakes, pulling side branches in all available space. Doubt i’ll make any more new bends, just continue adjusting the ones in there already as she grows.
also fed her again today with 1L/1ml biobizz grow with a small amount of molasses to feed the microcosm.
