Dutch Passion Medical SCROG: Compassion, CBD Kush and Night queen with LED

Thanks mate! I've never grown in smaller than a 6.5l pot so I wasn't sure. I'm hoping to get like 5-10 grams from it.

If you do a CBD run I would be happy to provide some input. I have terrible insomnia stemming from Lyme disease & Co-infections and there are very few things that make me sleepy. I tried a bunch of different sleeping pills and they only made me dizzy and I still couldn't sleep and they make you groggy the day after, no thanks. The best I've found so far is a nice Indica. For this reason I want to give the Ortega a try, just to get a little sample and if I like it I will do a bigger plant later.

Ah mate insomnia sucks, sorry to hear about that. I go through spells of it, usually lasts about 2 weeks to a month but I only get a couple a year so at least I can recover. But it's why I'm interested in CBD strains, sometimes the StarRyder I'm smoking means I just lie there thinking really fast. Maybe the AutoBlueberry will be better for sleep, if not I'll be asking for your top tips!

I used to be like you until I got Lyme (although I believe it's the co-infection Bartonella that causes insomnia) and the insomnia got 10 times worse. Now everyday is like the few days per year I used to have and when it's really bad, there's basically nothing that puts me out. I like to think of it as indica resistant insomnia  It does help though, without I was sometimes awake through the night maybe getting a couple of hours at the end.

I think StarRyder is Sativa dominant so it's probably not the best strain for sleeping. I have to say I prefer a high THC strain just before bed to help me sleep. I usually use the CBD rich strain in the day/evening and then switch to a high THC one a couple of hours before bed. AutoBlueberry is good for sleeping in my experience, I use it often.

Oh wow, that sounds like no fun at all. I'm a zombie after a month when I get it bad, and the idea of that not stopping is terrifying! Sorry to hear you're going through that, and well done having the energy to set up and run such epic grows!

Yeah the StarRyder is lovely stuff but yeah it's more a daytime smoke. Interesting to hear you prefer THC for sleep, I"ll have to experiment with some heavy indicas for bed time.

Thanks man, I really appreciate that. Yeah, the insomnia sucks but it's still probably only number 3 or 4 on the list of shitty symptoms. I was working full time until 4 months ago when I decided it was enough and went on long-term sick-leave, I have been ill for close to a decade. For a while setting up and running grows was about the only thing I could force myself to do, mostly because I have to, without Cannabis I would be truly lost.

I'm actually using cannabis oil as a treatment against Lyme disease as it turns out that THC and CBD are both potent antibiotics. It's going pretty well so far but it's not a miracle, I still expect to be out for another 3-6 months. I made quite a bit of progress though as before I started the treatment I could barely go to the store for groceries and last week I did a 5 mile bike ride followed by a 4 mile hike. If it continues the way it's going, and it it's still an if for me, then it's only matter of time before I'm better again. That would be amazing if after 2 years and literally a couple of pounds of pharmaceutical antibiotics it turned out that 6-9 months with cannabis oil worked. That's what I'm hoping for. I have also read stories of other people curing themselves of Lyme's disease using cannabis oil so I wouldn't be the first one.

It was a bit unexpected for me as well that I preferred the high THC strains but sometimes the high CBD strains would leave me to clear headed in a way to be able to sleep. Whereas a heavy indica will muddle you up and lock you to the bed, in a good way. I could also imagine that it's different for different people.

Sounds rough as hell, such a horrible thing to pick up. But it's great you're making progress and heading in the right direction. Fingers crossed this end it keeps working!

I can see why a strong indica would work but i'd be a bit worried about feeling rather confused in the morning, but again that can take different people differently.

The macro ring-light I ordered just arrived. It's a circular light that goes around the lens of the camera. Normally if you have a DSLR it would attach to the lens but since I have a compact camera I have to hold it in place, which easily works. I snapped a few quick shots just to try it out and the result is great. The shots without the ring-light are taken with just the auxiliary light in the tent.

The colors look much more natural with the ring light, without I think they're too cold.

I really like how it makes the trichs stand out.

This is just a zoom in of the photo above. The level of detail in the macro shots is amazing with the ring-light, it looks even better in high resolution. Needless to say I'm super happy with it and I will definitely be using it for all my photos.

Woo! I'm loving how clear the shots with the ring light are, lovely.

Ridiculous amount of trichs on that cola too, should be some lovely stuff!

Awesome DB.
That ring light really makes a difference, those shots are amazing.
Can you link me the ring light you have?

Thanks man! Yeah, it looks really great, thanks for the tip on that one. Another advantage I realised is that I'm much faster taking pictures now. I used to take 5-10 macro shots to get a good trichome shot, now it's basically point and shoot and it works the first try.

It's a sticky little plant, it's one of the best smelling I've had as well, very sweet candy like smell. I just emptied my last CBD Kush jar as well so it's going to be great to fill up the jars and vape again.

Thanks Grim! It makes a huge difference, really simplifies the process of picture taking as well. I bought this one:
