The lights I am using right now in the beginning are the Bestva 600w, true 125w, led reflector series, and the basic cob with meanwell driver and running a Cree 3590 chip at 3500k.
You can see, this light is pretty handy and has a nice spectrum. Very bright when on full blast, although I almost never run it like that. If only I had bought the Mars led, I may have done even better, but this is a very solid light with excellent quality construction.
Good canopy penetration as well. I keep it the same height as my 60w cobs. And right now, with this light on only bloom using 55 watts and the cob using 60 watts, I have them about 1.35cm above the pots. Seedling don't need that much light. This combination of soft red light and the cob give them a nice morning like sunrise effect and this should encourage them to stretch up and find the light from what I have read about spectrum and growth patterns in cannabis.
I am using the light with no reflector right now, but I have possibilities for both you see here. I found it was too hot and causing hot spots with overlap. I think I have more than enough light dispersion wise, intensity is another story. I will add UV light into the mix in mid and late flower. I have yet to acquire the light I will use yet. Still thinking of options.
Here you can see the pink hue of the lights reflected on the tent. I think this combo is the best way to start the plants IMO. Simulates sunrise
