Lighting Maximizing terpenes under AutoCobs?

Is this with or without the reflector attached?

I don’t have the reflectors on most of the time, every now and then I slap one on and give a bushy plant some real good 3500k love.

I did have a reflector on when it was 18-20” away from my one White Widow, and the leaves started turning into [emoji895]’s and crisping up. Bumped it to about 24” without a reflector and it’s beeen fine.

Easy smoking! [emoji869]

I've recently added a single Autocob to my tent, placing it in center with each of my LEDs to the side and angled. My 2 autos and one photo have really done well under the LEDs and seem even better after adding the Autocob. I've slowly moved the Autocob closer , with it now 14 inches from the autos and 20 from the photo. No problem at all. Temps are stable at 80 and plenty of air movement. The closest auto is a Ruby Stone and she has thickened since adding the Autocob.
Younger plants may not like those distances but mine sure do.

I love my cobs, but I also seem to have this problem. I've had a few strains that taste pretty good, but most of them are so so. I wasn't sure if it was the cobs, the medium, or the cure (maybe mix of all 3).

Mine probably get closer to the light than they should. I try to keep them at least 24 inches away if I can help it. Which autocob would increase terpenes? 2700 or 6000?

I have read that more red has a negative affect and also read that more red will have push the plants into creating more to act as a sunblock. The blue will definitely help the resin come out. Similar to metal halide in an hps room. The 2700k will fatten the buds and help with density. If the end quality is off I’d first try a new way of curing. I cured my plants wrong for ages. Luckily not many asked me for advice on this subject. I’d get a plain, somewhat stale smell and smoke. When I changed to the brown bag and the herbs drier it was a night and day difference.

I also am fond of brown bag drying as opposed to hang drying for bringing out the fine smells. It seems to me that it is faster than hang drying and lessens the "hay smell". This seems rather counterintuitive to the thought that slow drying will bring out a final better product. I question what is it about a double thick paper shopping bag that helps this so much?
I believe that large cultivators would bag dry but it is so more labor intensive, as well as it would cost more, and therefore they just hang dry.

Far reds, and leaf temps. Best Terps are in the VPD zone, did changing lights have an effect on the environment?
Have also heard the emerson effect can play a part in terp production.

I'm running 3500k, 450w in a 4x4. Will be adding some IR generators in the next couple rounds.

I also noticed a big lose of Terps when leaving HPS, I've tuned it now as much as I feel I can, time to add on.

I have found it to be the exact opposite. One of the main reasons I went to led was for the quality. The cobs, especially 3500k topped the colored leds I first started with by a lot. Strain is a big factor in it of coarse. My recent Mephisto harvest was dripping in resin and the flavors were epic. I also ran very little wattage overall.

I think you are right that it probably has to do with the cure. I will have to try the paper bag method. I'm not sure why I haven't yet lol. I hope my post didn't come across as bashing on the cobs. I absolutely love my lights! I recommend them to anyone who wants to listen

Not at all. I could probably say the same about my reply. Text doesn’t show emotion. Maybe I should add a few of these  or :smoking: next time lol. Paper bags for the win. Also a lot easier to come by these days. Plastic bags make up .000000001% of the plastic used as well as straws so they had to go.
