Don't know which video you're referring to but air must be pulled through the clothlike exterior of the filter

I am talking about this video which is a tutorial from Mars Hydro for the exact equipment I have

You drew it wrong first thing. The filter is designed for the airflow to go from the outside to inside of the filter, hence the sock filter on the outside.. Swap the positions and run it like that. Or put the fan outside, reduce the heat-load more, and install the filter inside and move the air outside.

This is my setup.
Air thru filter then to fan and fan exhaust out of the tent.
In terms of efficiency and physics.
Any configuration will be the same( its physics..)
But for noise, better to have the fan in tent.
If noise were not an issue.
You could have a pipe suck air from the tent.
With the fan and filter out side the tent.

Fan blowing into the filter.

The advantage of doing this is more room for the plants to grow.

Hello everyone,
So I set up everything with your much appreciated help.

The first minor issue I got right now is the noise. The extraction fan is quite noisy and my girlfriend is complaining about it (and I’m not blaming her).

My question is, can I close the door safely for the night? The grow tent is in a closet where we keep our clothes, maybe 5x2 meters. Is it not gonna fill the room with exhaust air? And how can that negatively impact the plants? Or will there be too much humidity for the clothes?

Close the tent ....no problem...
Smell will not be a problem.

Keep the closet door open in the day when you are not there.

Stupid suggestion.
Can you make a duct to vent under the doors with tape and cardboard?

Tomato can cut at both ends,.. inlet from the hose/duct to...a duck bil ( duck mouth), under the door.

I would have to look into that...
last night I had to shut off everything instead of the small circulating fan. It’s fine for now as they are just seedlings, but I won’t be able to do that while they are way into veg/flower stage.
