Old Reviews Mars Hydro TS1000 LED + Grow tent kit - Feedback?

I really dont see the point of buying a 150 watt light only to turn it down, just because you can.... WTF?

Raise the light if need be.

The ts1000 ( as I have tested puts out 550 PAR at 24 inches.
Start seedlings at 48 inches...and lower by 6 inches every week.
Then keep the lights 16 inches above .

I've always imagined, and correct me if I'm wrong, that given the area is so small there is more light hitting the plant in general. Putting the same plant and light in the middle of a 10x10 for example would have quite different results I'd think?

It does , you are correct.
However, unless your plants are seedlings.
You want as much light to hit the plant as possible.
The first sign of heat stress is the top leaves curling up like a taco.
Unless this is happening, keep the light cranked up to max (150 watts).
If your growing in a tent, and height is a problem. Then I 'd turn down the light.

But before turning it down' consider LST.

This would be using the light to its full potential.

Maybe you guys could help me out with this question? https://www.autoflower.org/threads/help-with-carbon-filter-inline-fan-installation-please.79662/

I dont wan't to mess up, should I install my carbon filter + fan as shown on the picture?

Or can I install it with the carbon filter outside of the tent?
It just seems easier to me to do it this way, and I could add the carbon filter only when the plant starts to smell.
Would you guys advise against doing that?

You want the filter and fan the other way around so the fan is sucking the air through the filter as opposed to blowing through it. You can either attach the fan to the filter or have the fan outside the tent with ducting

The fans are designed to pull thru........not push thru.
Put your fan outside and take suction on the filter

I am even more confused. So the way they do on the video is not right? (Or did they do it right but I just drew it wrong?)

LOL! No problem!
You drew it wrong first thing. The filter is designed for the airflow to go from the outside to inside of the filter, hence the sock filter on the outside.. Swap the positions and run it like that. Or put the fan outside, reduce the heat-load more, and install the filter inside and move the air outside.

@automan2
So I received my TS1000 and tried it all day on my balcony autos and indeed it gets a bit hot inside the tent. I am willing to mount the driver outside of the tent but I have a stupid question; where should I put the driver exactly? On the floor?

@Wico @HighnDry You guys advised me to not run the lights on full power, which intensity level would you recommend? For seedling, veg, flowering?

I have 2.3x2.3 tent with the Mars TS1000 light. I run it at full power and the plants love it. No issues there. Just follow their recommended heights for the relevant stages.
