Hello,

I've been growing outdoors on my balcony this season and it was very fun but summer is short where I live and I'd like to keep going.

So I am looking for some equipment to move indoors and these days I've been thinking about this kit from Mars Hydro https://www.mars-hydro.com/grow-kits-combo/grow-kit-2x2-ts1000

The goal would be to grow maybe two autoflowers at a time or one photoperiod and I would use the same light for both veg and flower. The tent would be placed in a small room of the apartment that is currently used as a closet; there's no window and no vent, but the door is open most of the time.

What do you guys think of this setup? Is it enough for what I want to do?
Since there is no window or vent, can I just place the exhaust outside of the tent? The air gets renewed as we always go in and out to get clothes.

Is there something I should add to this kit or is it complete for my basic needs?

Please do not hesitate to let me know if I'm missing something

Cheers.

That would work but I will suggest a 2x4 or 3x3 only bc I've had to many autos that in a 1gal pot would out grow my space which @ time was 28in x 28in so just about wat ur looking@ also I like the coverage of strip lights they seem to have best coverage Mars makes 1 but the fc3000 is for 4x4 so you won't find one from them smaller which they need to build 1 lol. Lots of others have them also chilled tech and hlg are also awsome led lights if you want stuff that will last ect I would piece ur own together it will be a bit more investment upfront to not have to fix / replace things like I have lol I have 2 spaces and had gone through 3 bought led lights and 4 DIY builds aswell as 4 fans 3 filters ect so knowing wat I do now I certainly would have done things diffrently.

Maybe you'll have better luck than I just did when buying Mars Hydro, I just bought the 2.3x2.3 tent and the ts1000 and it showed up missing parts  a few days and several emails and pic sent but they say it's a "procedure" This is what they told me the procedure is " For components shipment, we need a whole procedure. First send the pictures to production team to check and apply the needed components, then send to financial team to approve. Then shipping team will find the goods and pack it then ship it out. Sorry for the inconvenience it brings to you." but I still don't have any tracking #'s yet, second time they've said I'll get them. Guess I'll have to wait and see
Oh wow that sucks. Did you order from the official website mars-hydro.com?

Good start up plan....Sounds like you have the basics in mind and as long as you have a plan to handle heat, you'll be ok....I run a ts1000 in a 2x3 tent with 2 autocobs alongside...all do a good job on their own but together, they just about blow my tent up. There's a thread somewhere about locating the driver outside your grow area that will help with the heat...otherwise, you'll have to inject some form of ventilation. That'll be your biggest challenge.

So the ventilation fan included in the kit would not be enough to handle the heat?

You will still need a clip-fan to prevent your plant from forming mold. The 2x2 is great for a single plant especially in (R)DWC with use of training techniques (~200 gram dry/harvest). And that TS-1000 should never run on full power in a 2x2, which will save you energy and it will extend the lifetime. Good first set up, especially at that price. And drop the timer when you plant autoflowers.

Noted, thanks. Might be a stupid question buut what is the purpose of the ventilation fan that is included in the kit then?

I've read some stories of clip fan catching fire, it made me a bit paranoid.

Agreed on lowering the power for that size space, especially in veg. I'm running 2 of these in a 5' x 3.3' and thought I'd have to add my TS600 too but the coverage is bang on with these quite high and maxed out

Good to know, thanks

The extraction fan (like you have in your kit, with the carbon filter) will make sure that there is fresh air in your tent and that the air outside the tent is odour free. But it will likely not get the air to circulate inside your tent to a level that prevents wet leafs from forming mold. I have this one in my 2x2 and it's great:
