Indoor Mars Hydro grow journal: WildBill does Hubbabubbasmelloscope in EarthBoxes under MarsHydro SP3000

Looking good, Bill. Wow, EB, CO2, bokashi, teas, and recharge.. are you trying to bust your tent at the seams with buddage?
Gotta try new stuff and make more canna!
With what girls I picked for this run, I should have a packed tent.
Thanks for stopping by! Hopefully it will be interesting at the least!

Well, lesson 1 learned on EarthBoxes!

In a tent, white up on the cover. Soil temps were elevated by the black being out.

This would probably be good for growers dealing with a cold environment in thier tent.
I hope I didn't hurt my worms though. It's sure not hurting the girls.

Good thing I ordered some spares! :gassy:

I should have caught that. I grow with my EBs outside in 100 degree temps in ten CA summer. I learned early on that the white side is the right side for trying to manage root temps. Easy fix.

Holy Frankenstein batman. Earth box, hubba bubba and sp3000 added co2. just now seeing this thread someone's trying to grow some monsters!
Looking great Bill :pighug: :baked: Can't hardly wait to see the out come of your grow.:d5::pass:
Thanks guys! I fully intend to grow some BIG girls!
The two HBSS will get some intensive LST to help control their height a bit. The Kong and Sour Stomper will grow mostly natural with maybe just pulling outwards to open the outer branches if needed. but I really want to see them in their natural form.

At the rate the HBSS are growing, I fully expect to see them to be showing sex any day now. I'm impressed with EarthBoxes at this point. I am gonna try to do something I haven't seen anyone state they do when using EBs. Some have ran into problems with the rez going bad and causing issues. I really don't think I'm gonna use EM1 in the rez, but I am gonna try to figure out an easy method to be able to flush/exchancge the water in the rez. It would be easy if I had a full tray in the tent. I think once every two weeks I;ll place something under the overflow to catch the flooding, prolly a cookie tray or one of my bigger trays for my BBQ. I've already tested the runoff twice with the results only slightly changing from the input. It may just be overkill, but it;s safe.
If that works well, I may Mod one of the boxes to make it easier to flush by installing two valves. One at a low point for draining and the other at the normal water level with the stock drain point being sealed. I may have to replace the rollers with some sort of footing to sloghtly raise the box and give it a little bigger footprint for a bit more stability. That could give me the ability to use some sort of EM1 or compost tea in the rez without worry.

I flip the tray so the fill is opposite of the drain. Helps push the old water out and you will see crud come out.
If you want to raise the box on one end, you can get floor protectors at the depot. Floor Protectors
I've started adding em1 just to my tea bag - let it soak for a few minutes then put it into my mixer
I have started ph ing my water. I had heard numerous people say you don't need to do that with organics. Leighton-the guy who's on Future cannabis project all the time said that is true for outdoor growers but not for indoor growers as our pots are too small. Was talking about how the bigger the pot you have, the more forgiving it is.

Those protectors may be enough that I could slip one of the pot trays.
Not Ph' ing you water in organics is a pretty big blanket statement. Ph' ing your water in organics is mainly just informational. That is if you have 'normal' water. Anything on either extreme, sure, you do need to Ph. especially in a small pot. Good thing I don't use little pots, but I may get something for the clones for seed making I’m gonna attempt in this grow.
My water is dead nuts consistent.......180ppm and 7.8Ph from the tap. I'm about 3000ft from the DEEP well. The dissolved minerals are good and I don't think the Ph will hurt. It could be actually helpful in EBs. I'm watering all with rainwater at the moment. When I start to fully feed the girls in the 7gal pots, I'll use the tap water in my teas and the molasses will bring the PH down as will just brewing.
