Indoor Mars Hydro grow journal: WildBill does Hubbabubbasmelloscope in EarthBoxes under MarsHydro SP3000

Broke 3000
My morning check shows very happy girls in the tent. Keeping the temp below 80*F and VPD around 0.75-0.65 and lights 25in above canopy.

The HBSS are looking a little better in color and much better in condition. Gotta go out and get some fauset insulation for the little cold snap coming, so I think I'm going to get some Timothey hay for put on top of the EBs until they fully come around.

Pulled the other two girls out to get down with the problem girls. I added a tiny bit of yucca powder as a surfactant to rain water and well misted the bare media. Added a fairly thin layer of Timothy hay and then thoroughly misted it.
There are improvements on both girls, but more so on the left. I guess because she was less affected. Her yellowing has greened up a good amount. There was some progress on the right, but she was hit harder, so I expect it to take longer for her to recover. The positive thing it that there has been no further progression or decline. And that makes me happy.

By the time I finished with everything, the girls were a little pissed at me for maneuvering them around to apply the hay..
Hopefully they both continue to improve!
Topped off both rez with rainwater with just other a half gallon between the two .

Again, they are greener than what the camera shows. i need to see if my clip ons for my glasses will show up better.

Right HBSS..........slight improvement, but any is good

Left HBSS..........greening filling the yellowing nicely, but she was hit less hard.

Let's take a good look at Sour Stomper.

If you zoom in, you can see trichomes forming on the sugar leaves.

A reference for the size of her main stem. I don't have small hands.

I wanted to show the same with Kong, but she's a 70's girl!:eyebrows::eyebrows:
Kong. Kong is beginning to form her buds though.

Happy girls make a happy Daddy! They even greeted me with some canna funk! Whoever said Sour Stomper had a strong grape smell was spot on. Kong greeted me with her funk, but I can't quite make it out. Then Sour Stompers funk came thru. At first, I thought it was a bubblegum smell, it was pretty sweet. Then the grapey smell came thru.
Canna never ceases to amaze me with the variations in every aspect of the plant that it can present.

Kong is kicking off her young bud production with determination. I expect that from HBSS any day.

HBSS is well on their way to recovery. I'm not declaring victory, but I sure feel a LOT better,

The pic of Kong didn't turn out well. I didn't have time to check it. I has to whizz bad. Yeah, I check my girls before I take my waking whizz.
THAT'S HOW I ROLL!

THE GIRLS ARE GROWING

TIME TO MOVE UP DA LIGHTS!

The right HBSS is still leading in the height department, so she dictates for the tent. Sour Stomper is the same height as the left HBSS and not too far behind. I had to move up 2in!

The EarthBoxes are maintaining the top of the media at good moisture level for 24 hours after applying the hay. In another day or two, I should be able to tell if this will work permanently. I'd be happy with having to mist the top every 5 days or so. I think a couple reasons to maintain the straw top would be more oxygen will be available to entire media and keep the media temps down at the top. I guess this comes from my past growing. Even if the EB cover is somewhat gas-permeable, surely the hay would be more

DAY 32

HBSS are still coming around. I'd like some input. I want to renew performing the LST. I don't want them to get too far out of control, but I don't want to stress them too much. It could be beneficial by exposing other sites not hit/less hit by whatever hit them.
They could easily go for a few more days without any future problems. FYI....the main stem at the base is getting amazingly thick. I just don't want to hurt the recovery process, especially since I plan to clone at least the HBSS and make some seeds. I'll probably need to get that started pretty soon. Furthermore, I guess the success of the clones would be diminished in the current state, not to mention the stress it would impose on the girls now.

It is quite nice to be greeted by the girls with a nice canna funk. That kinda gets a little addicting. :eyebrows:

Yep! Tie em down! Looking great, Bill. The HBSS are enjoying the earthboxes, and seem to be vegging longer than the potted plants. They are already bigger, and with more vegging, that will only grow. I can’t wait to see how they progress. Very interesting.

Do not fear. Tie them bitches down!

THERE IS A METHOD TO MY MADNESS!
:naughtystep::naughtystep::naughtystep:
Before the girls dove into their training, I moved things around. That means draining the rez in each one. There was a little muck. A little of it was the biochar. I also had a little root come out the overflow. That means to me each rez needs to be drained every week. I don't think it needs to be more often, but I'm open to input.

I don't see LST as being terribly stressful, in fact, it may stimulate them into a new growth spurt.
