Indoor Mars Hydro grow journal: WildBill does Hubbabubbasmelloscope in EarthBoxes under MarsHydro SP3000

I breezed thru and found the deal with the aphids. What happened ? Those looked like aphids. If you still have an issue they will climb up from the dirt and munch. Look under leaves with a magnifier if you see them holler and I will tell you how I got rid of them. :toke:

Hey @WildBill stopped by for a peek and am seeing a familiar sight. I also use the roots organics original and some SP's. In the User manual they allude to the need to add more calcium and magnesium on page 5. I have found this to be true. Where's your calcium and magnesium coming from ? Those SP's really put a plant in overdrive. They really do not look that bad so be careful don't over compensate. I have been using the roots elemental for the calcium and magnesium and it is a slow release.:pass:
I should be covered for calcium and magnesium with the dolomite lime. The DuMOR chicken laying crumble has available calcium and magnesium. The compost also has available calcium and magnesium

The kinda look like aphids with the swollen abdomens, but the legs give it a away. Fairly sure they are compost mites....good guys and they don't leave the soil.....further confirming compost mites

I don't quite understand your question.
In this particular grow, I'm not doing anything, other than leaf tucking, to Kong and Sour Stomper because I want to see their natural structure thru seedling to chop. I want to be able to know how their natural structure changes thru the grow.. I know at this moment, Sour Stomper is a very symmetrical and well organized girl. Kong is a little less organized.
I know HBSS will be big and more sativa like in structure. LST for them is just an effort to try to control them and have the possibility to have multiple "main" colas.
I think topping auto indicas is best left for doing a sea of green. Top 'em all once and run the thu the net/s.
In growing individual auto indicas, I can get more "main colas" by LST and not slow the growth near as much as topping. If you tried to get as many main colas with topping as LST, the topped plant would be much smaller. In other than a sea of green grow, topping is best left to photos.

If I didn't answer your question, ask again.
Topping does not effect the growth any healthy auto in anyway.how wrong u are.try and see;)happy growing every1.;)

Na spot on response thanks.

Here's what I did to try and fix this problem.

Pulled the lst anchors and pulled back the covers
Drained both reservoirs in the EBs
Added a big glob of ;little garden helpers and put an avocado half on each
Two hours before using, I added Recharge to the brewing compost tea
Just before using the tea, I blended the barley I malted and made a watery slurry/ I strained and squeezed out most of the water and added it to the tea. Took the solid material, spread it out in my worm bin and put some cabbage leaves on top. Strained the compost tea and did the same.
I gave each EB 1/2 gal of the tea to the media.
Each 7gal pot 1/.2 gal top watered.with the tea. with a tiny bit of Yucca powder as a surfactant.
Gave each EB another half gal
Poured 1/2 gal in the trays of the 7gal pots. They soaked it up within 15 min.
Sprinkled a little mykos on top and poured the remaining tea onto the Ebs
Later this morning, I'll top off the rez in the EB

With all the LST removed, I raised up the lights further to prevent 'grow up over exposure' again.
At this moment, the tent is running 68-71 vpd. I'll run that for a while.
I'm just going to leave off the covers for the time being. If I get some rice hulls, I'll take the Timothy hay off the 7gal and spread it on top of the EBs and top the 7gal pots with the rice hulls. I may add more worms to the 7gal pots at the time.

Without a real firm diag, I think this was the best thing I could do. I guess we'll all see and hopefully something learn from it.

Here they are when I finished.

At first lights on, no dead girls!:d5::funny:

Good thing I pulled up the lights. Both HBSS are trying to move out of their LST.
Filled both rez with rainwater.
Both are no worse and the left one may be a bit more green to the eye, but she was hit less hard.

It's not quite that yellow

Sour Stomper was already trying to pray. She's the one I smell when I open the tent.
That's a pretty open structure! She'll be interesting to watch how her structure matures. I'm glad I let her go natural.
Pretty buds forming!

Nice symmetry!

Kong still had a little sleep in her eyes. Very pretty, but much more bushy in structure.

Good news! The worms I put in yesterday were under the avocados.. I'm happy about that. It was nice and ripe and they were already feasting. I guess they thought they were feeding back in the worm bin where I snatched them all balled up.:eyebrows:
