Indoor Mars Hydro grow journal: WildBill does Hubbabubbasmelloscope in EarthBoxes under MarsHydro SP3000

I think so too!
I was pretty happy to see them all praying.
By The end of next week, I should be applying LST to some side branches. The way I think the HBSS will grow, I'll have to TRY to manage/direct their growth closely.
Even as big as the HBSS are getting at this stage, I'm really interested in how Sour Stomper is working her flowering. She's hinting at the strain's node spacing and it looks good. I like how symmetrical she is also. ........less random branches.

Hey man been really enjoying this grow journal just been lurking as I'm just starting to learn about micro grows. More for my knowledge and curiosity is there a reason you won't Top/Fim or choose LST over them?

I don't quite understand your question.
In this particular grow, I'm not doing anything, other than leaf tucking, to Kong and Sour Stomper because I want to see their natural structure thru seedling to chop. I want to be able to know how their natural structure changes thru the grow.. I know at this moment, Sour Stomper is a very symmetrical and well organized girl. Kong is a little less organized.
I know HBSS will be big and more sativa like in structure. LST for them is just an effort to try to control them and have the possibility to have multiple "main" colas.
I think topping auto indicas is best left for doing a sea of green. Top 'em all once and run the thu the net/s.
In growing individual auto indicas, I can get more "main colas" by LST and not slow the growth near as much as topping. If you tried to get as many main colas with topping as LST, the topped plant would be much smaller. In other than a sea of green grow, topping is best left to photos.

If I didn't answer your question, ask again.

Speaking of structure, I'm VERY impressed with the symmetry and structure of Sour Stomper. So far, there are no 'rogue' branching. That means more efficient use of energy. It's looking like she'll have really good node spacing. I guess the way she is growing her flowers has me pretty excited too. At this point of the grow, it look like Sour will probably go into the grow again list.

I really can't capture what I'm talking about, but maybe you guy can get an idea.

It's about an hour and a half before lights off. It seems they are already trying to go to sleep.
I'm gonna see tomorrow if I see the same thing, I'm gonna turn off the CO2 about this time and turn it on an hour after lights on/ This will give me the time I need to do whatever needs to be done to the girls.

I had to raise the lights an inch last night and again this morning. I'm not pushing them too hard by keeping it at 25in, but it's close. I'll bring it down to around 22-23in with the CO2.

Now isn't that cute! They're fightin' for dominance! :funny:

I'll let them run this way for a couple of days before I lst more. ....unless they change my mind.

Oh.....Kong and Miss Sour are stinking up the tent.:gassy:

edit............... Gave the HBSS almost half gal each . No change in Ph in over flow.

HBSS has other plans. I don't think they want to wait for more LST. I had to move the lights up again just a bit ago. It's all the side branches fighting for dominance
I just re amended them, so I should be good for a good 10 days and won't have to move the tie downs for a bit.

Sour Stomper is sure showing her genetics. I sure hope she's representative of the strain! As she grows, she maintains her open structure. It will be interesting to see at what point she stops puts out side branches from the main cola and then it just grows up.
Both Kong and Stomper are very nice and dark green.... just not that too green. I'm changing my way of making small batch compost teas. No more bagging up my ingredients. It's like I made when I was a kid when I made it for Grandma. Just strain it! More than likely, I'll take the strained material and spread it to the top before watering. But it won't go to waste if I don't put it on the plants, I'll just give it to my worms.

I've had a bucket brewing and the girls in the pots will get the compost tea tomorrow morning. I have malted barley ready and will blend it and let it brew in the tea for a couple of hours. With as green as they are now, I'm not adding Boost this time to my tea. The strained tea will get yucca powder before applying as a surfactant as one of my new regular addition to regular pots.

I am leaf tucking on Kong as the only form of lst. It shouldn't change her overall natural look or formation, just maybe slightly more bud production slightly sooner.
Miss Stomper needs no training with her open structure. :headbang::headbang:
I'll post some post LST pics later.

edit...................My garden helpers still in their bin gets a fresh cabbage smoothie tonight!

It's taco time!!!:muahaha:

I've posted the problem in the infirmary section.

Problem: HBSS in EarthBoxes progressive lightening of newer leaves. Old fan leaves not affected.

Medium/grow method: Roots Organic Original

Feed: and supplements used: Top dressed each with
Ground up 4 table spoons of Thorvin Kelp
Ground up 1/2 cup of Alfalfa meal
One cup of DuMore Chicken crumble
1/2 cup of bokoshi

water source: Rain water 7.0PH

Strain/age:HBSS

light used: SP3000 and Cali Lightworks165watts full grow

Climate: Last 4 days 80*F 60%rH

Additional info: Exact same media in 7 gal pots with no problems with two other strains. BOTH HBSS are showing exact same signs.
Added recommended amount of dolomite lime at the time of filling the container
I started to notice a very slight lightening of the new and new growth Wednesday or Thursday. It has progressed. Old growth is not problematic.
I've checked the overflow water every time I watered with very minimal changes in pH.

Two possible problem areas:
I think the cause.
1. I've had to pull up the lights 5-6 times in the last 3 days. Now that was after finding out I had the SP3000 fully dimmed and I think it was like that for 2 or 3 cycles.
All the girls jumped up, but most so with the HBSS. The past two days, when I woke up, the girls shot up and got up to 23in and 22in each day. That's probably over 900ppfd. Girls in the 7gal pots are not as tall.

2. Other than a couple days after applying the bokoshi, I have no kind of mat development, even after this week's application. I think the compost mites have eaten it as it forms.

Other than those things, I have nothing. I've pulled up the lights to 26in for the time being

With the canopy getting that close, after finding about the dimming and fully bringing the lights back up, could it caused a shock to the roots and caused them to have a problem delivering nutrients?

Or is this a simple bleaching/light stress?

Once you get a round turn on ur current issue, can you provide me ur thought process on small batch teas? Specifically, why no longer "bagging up" ingredients? Also, why strain ingredients if they are going to be added as a top dressing? What are the unintended consequences of not straining and just applying?

To be clear, I am not questioning, but rather inquiring to broaden my knowledge as I desire to be a tea & top dressing grower.
