Indoor Mars Hydro grow journal: WildBill does Hubbabubbasmelloscope in EarthBoxes under MarsHydro SP3000

I wetted the cups a little last night and turned on one fan on to move the air around and strengthen the girls.
Gonna center the SP3000 and lower it to around 30in above, but keep it to 50%. Maybe the babies won't have to stretch up so much to get some light.
All the pots are fully ready for transplanting with soil temps stable and all media at proper moisture levels. After a week of sitting in the solo cups, won't the seedlings be past the point of damping off being a big risk? I just want to not restrict the seedlings in the root aspect.

Something I've yet to see anyone post here as advice in a winter grow. I'm taking care to make sure my water is close as possible to the temp of the grow room. Cold water will slow microbial activity and 'bad' fungus tends to grow at lower soil temps.

I have a better humidifier tomorrow. I'm gonna see if I can easily bring up tent Rh and keep the same temps I'm currently running to get my VPD a little lower.

I'll also set the timers on the lights to 18/6 and run from 1800-1200. I think I'm gonna pull in the little California LightWorks light sooner than last time. I think time of transplanting will be as good as any. Since it has no dimmer, it will just be high up.

Now the real question I have no idea about. At what point of plant growth, should I bring in CO2 during light on hours? Naturally, I assume the plant needs to be to the point where it can tolerate more light and a pretty good root structure. I'm thinking somewhere between 14 days and 21 days.

Input on anything is welcomed!

Now isn't that cute?

At three days old, Baby HBSS already knows how to pray! :baked::rofl::rofl:

I like looking at early development of seedlings. I'm sure I should have turned up the lights sooner with as tall as they are currently, but it won't hurt a thing.
One of the HBSS and the Sour Stomper don't have the perfect leaves as the other two, because of helmet head,, but they are good to go.
The other HBSS grew up a little, but the leaves grew a good bit. She has just a touch of the next leaves emerging.
Kong grew up and the leaves grew nicely. She also has another set of leaves emerging, but are quite a bit more developed.

I wanted to document this one difference for future reference. It just caught my eye........................I can't help it! It's the Gelato33!:baked::rofl:

edit........I pulled back the EBs shower cap and the bokashi mycelium are forming quite nicely. That's pretty dang quick I think.

Pics don't really show the growth. Best improvement goes to Kong. The other HBSS and Sour Stomper are behind with the helmet crap and the Sour Stomper may be slightly too wet, but only slightly.
Except for Sour Stomper, gave a little water to them

My cheap ass figured out how to solve my munchies and catch run off from the EarthBox when filling the rez. So I made me some tuna fish sammiches and put the cleaned can 'unda da puka' of the EarthBoxes. Sorry for 'da pidgin', but I'm high and puka seems the best description the damn place. It was the only thing I disliked after hot glueing window screen on the tray keeping the media out of the rez.

Better humidifier comes today. Even though what I'm doing with this little cheap one is providing a great environment, the new one should be more accurate and stable without as much attention and for a longer period of time without service. Win Win Win!

My next step is when to transplant. I'm sure I can plant the girls in the 7gal bags now with no impact and might even help little SS by wicking off some moisture.

The Earthboxes are different. With the EBs already wicking and bokasi running, I think the roots need to be more developed to deal with the moisture levels. I'd appreciate some input on this or anything you guys see.

I'm gonna call all the girls to have the same birthday since they were so close.

First HBSS.....yeah, I'm not zoomed in like the others:baked:

Second HBSS......doing better. Dunno about that bend.

Well, my new humidifier came in. I chose to put it inside. I have the room, at the moment, and it's easier to regulate. Good size 1.59 gal TOP fill tank.
This will hopefully be a good tool. It's quite versatile. I can control it manually at the unit. It's networked, so I can use Alexa to do a bunch of things. There is also an app for your phone and you can fully control it. You can check the humidity the unit senses, but it did seem off. I'm gonna let it stabilize for a while and recheck.
I guess we'll see how well it works!

Enjoying the show. Never ending learning. Can you gimme the "readers digest" version of what u did with the solo cups? A pic if u have one, and why?

I'm intrigued.

Didn't take pics. Several roaming around the forum.
Just took a regular square bottom solo cup and cut out the sides along the contours of the cup at the top and thin columns going down. Kinda like Gothic arches on each side of the cup. I fit inside a second cup with holes in the bottom/ I have other cups in the containers level with the media. I replace the seedling in the two cup with the other cup. When I'm ready to transplant, I pull the cups out of the potm take off the outter cup, spray a malted barley spray on the transplant's media that's exposed and inside the hole in the pot and sprinkle mikos in the same fashion. Then place the transplant into the soil. Might lightly water from there.
It's for when you want to transplant, for what ever reason, and lessen the likelihood of the roots being restricted and lessen transplant shock or transplant stall.
