Indoor Mars Hydro grow journal: WildBill does Hubbabubbasmelloscope in EarthBoxes under MarsHydro SP3000

Nice set up.

I agree! It's a grow method to it's own. I like it, but apprehensive because of some things I've seen on this forum when things went wrong.
I want to just do a KISS(Keep It Simple Stupid) first grow in EBs, but it's hard not to try something. I could easily make a run just putting compost and a couple amendments on top and add water. Very easily grow quite good canna and lots of it.
LOL! It's hard not to tweak things. I just don't want to get myself into the thought process of adding all sort of amendments that gets most people in trouble.....................and line the pockets of all these companies that make some of these really silly amendments.
I was laughing at just how much floor space was allotted to nutes at this grow store I was in yesterday.

Anyway, I have an email out to TeraGanix;s canna expert with quite a bit of questions about their EM1 and growing in EBs. Hopefully we'll get some valuable info.
Damn tweakers. The EM1 will lower your ph. If you use the activated, its at 4.3 I believe? I started fussin with other things cause of the yellow leaf issue and all the folks that said you didn't need to ph the water. Now I know better. Besides the homegrownbokashi, the only thing i "might" add is fruits/veggies I can grow myself or get at the grocery

I I threw him quite a bit of specific and technical questions. If he tries to sling some BS, me or surely someone here would know the difference. But I don't expect that from this company, but it might be a bit tilted to sales.
I'll see what their supposed canna guy puts out..

Went to go look at the girls and decided they need to be rearranged. And I moved the lights down to 28in also.
I'll let the girls run like this until I need the middle for the clones or get too big.
Well. Tomorrow I'm gonna set up the CO2 and start it at the first of the light cycle. And here goes the extra planning I have to do make sure I have limited entry times for efficiency’s sake and safety.
I think I'll set the timer for an hour after lights on and one hour before lights off. I'll have to be happy with that. I don't know if I can handle that! LOL!

HERE COME DA GIRLS! HERE COME DA GIRLS! ................with the mindset of Sammy Davis Jr and Laugh In. You old fuggers will get that! :cools:
Damn! It's day 20 already!

Looking at the girls this morning, I decided it's time to start training on the HBSS girls! :naughtystep:
I thought I had some wire in the shop to make some "canes" as MrOldBoy used in his EarthBoxes. I sure wish he was here to answer questions. He's riding along in my heart.

I just used a big paper clip as the anchor and a soft wire. Gotta go to the store to see if I can find either velcro tape and/or wire to make canes. I really want the tape, but MrOldBoy got great results from canes....early on. I do think HBSS trends to be larger than his Sam's crack, so I think tape will be the best long term solution and use the big paper clips.

Yeah, it's gonna be a hassle when I top dress, but that's not gonna be too many times. We all know LST is an on going operation if I want to TRY and control these girls in EB's.

I'm gonna hold off The CO2 for a few days. I'm gonna trend the girls into a bit higher VPD. I kinda think autos need to start seeing higher VPD figures earlier than what most charts show. With their short set life span, I think it needs to have a higher uptake sooner, as long as the roots are well-developed. I can move the lights down during that time also. I think 3-4 day will be fine.

My idea on CO2 hose is to plug the end and poke small holes in it along the length and zip tie it along the tent's top front bar the full length. With the exhaust fan in the back, that should be the best flow pattern. I'll also change my air intake from the right side to the rear. It will change the tent's response times to changes in the lung room with my humidifier being on the right side on the front of the tent. I dunno. I may not move my intake. 'If it ain't broke, don't fix it!' comes to mind.

Even Purple Kong is praying......well starting!
Sour Stomper is an atheist at the moment. The lights will soon warm her cold heart!:cools:

I got my velcro tape. I think I'll use the softwire to attach to the plant and use the tape to connect to clips

OH YEAH BABY!

Very simple pull over

I need help!
Can anyone ID these bugs"
I'm hoping beneficial!
They look like aphids to me, but's been a long time.
If they are mites of some sort, I've never seen mites with a big swollen fluid filled abdomen
I see babies and eggs in the second pic.

They do look like aphids ? Can you get a shot from the side of one

They do look like aphids in the abdomen, but the legs look way more mite like. That;s what confused me.
I posted a bug id thread and Mañ'O'Green posted this pic. It makes sense of them being compost mites. I'm pretty sure they came from my worm bin when I added the worms.
