NEWS Marlboro to buy Cannabis Company

That is why I refuse to grow with all the chemical and salt based fertilizer garbage. Ingesting organically grown, burnt plant matter into the lungs is one thing, people have been walking through forest fire smoke throughout history and don't just drop dead. But put the same person in a building full of asbestos (salt) and plastics (chemicals) that are burning and causing smoke, and they either drop dead from it, or have severe impacts, potentially both short and long term. I know it's not the best analogy, but that's my perspective on it.

Yes, you will find studies that show both side. I am not a scientist not trying to claim to be, inhaling smoke is not beneficial to the lung. All the added shit to tobacco and its filters are what separates it for me. You can never smoke a thing and still get lung cancer all kinds a crap in the air. Smoke test for me says a lot. It's a different kind of smoke. I dont smoke flower anymore just rosin, it's a different kind of smoke. I tried to smoke a bowl the other day and couldn't just cough to much tastes like an ashtray to me now. I have had a vaporizer for about 10yrs I am aware for my lungs so I get it. I dont hold hits like I use to cause it may do more damage. My big issue with them is trust, I dont trust them. I dont think we need them would it happen faster sure it would. Faster isnt always better, so no rush for me. I would think most folks from here aren't going to buy anyway, most would grow their own I would think. No worries bud just healthy debate, if everyone thought the same way it would be pretty boring lol. I see why some people would want their help, they maybe the most powerful industry in the world. We sit at 64% of the states with medical and 20% have rec. I don't think its going to stop, so do we need them to make it happen?

Edit - healthy not health lol

Agree, make mine organic ...... Can’t wait to try some of my own .... way way way back I grew a killer plant organically and I still remember it was the best I’d ever had, it was near impossible to even finish a joint - well at least the first few we smoke - the smoke was so resinous the joint put itself out.

Sounds like my kind of smoke! KIS Organics has recipes on their site for making your own soil just like what they sell bagged. Plus you can just find the ingredients locally and cook them per the recipe.

Forgive me for voicing my opinion. But i reallydont know that this is a good idea. These guys are not in it for the patients, consumers,or even for the thrill of growing. These guys are ONLY after the money. they did it when they saw that everyone was quiting cigs and going to vaping. they took over a vaping company and now theres little starter vapes in every gas station. and they are not at all of decent quality. now they see a massive amount of moNey that can be made thru cannabis. Im not against anyone making a buck. But these guys are just money grubbing corporatists thats gonna take the money do absolutely NOTHING for innovation or production.and everywhere these guys go lawyers, laws, and bad news always seems to follow. They have the money and the ability to theoreticallybuy out every grower around in time. I just dont feel co fortable with these guys. But thats just my opinion from what i saw they do to the vaping industry. Cheers.

Marlboro Cannabis cigs? That's a weird feeling. They never wanted to take any responsibility for manufacturing a cancer causing product, so I wouldn't trust them with cannabis or anything else for that matter.

yep, ill hafta agree with you on that. and on a completely other side of the coin, (and possibly a crappy way to look at it) but these guys have already made their "money" they have their own industry that they are dominating. why cant they let the people who are producing a completely different product make their mark on their particular industry, not to mention make their money. i mean sheesh let someone else have a shot at it.... lol.

Enjoying the fruits of organic grown, wonderful taste!

Heck, we were talking about big tobacco taking it over back in 69. They may have a bit of a fight with big pharma now involved. They should have put their money into legal recreation use way back then

The thing is, whether we like it or not - some large corporations are going to be competing for the canna market because that's what they do. GE started off as a lightbulb company, Sony made tape recorders, etc. - business is about evolving or dying. Tobacco is dying so tobacco companies are trying to evolve and cannabis is an obvious venue for them.

What we need to do as the canna community isn't to bitch and complain about the inevitable entrance of big business into our culture. Instead we need to be in front of it offering guidance and pushing for high standards.

I'll always grow and never buy, but I'm realistic enough to realize that most people won't. I grow my own tomatoes and cucumbers and ocra too, but most people get theirs from a grocery store instead of tilling up their back yard.

I, for one welcome our new corporate overlords (and their lobbying dollars)
