Mephisto Genetics Mark SIP grow Toofless alien and gold glue

Hey @MrOldBoy & @slowandeasy just wanna make sure this looks ok?? I’ll add 2nd cover onto goldy if this looks ok on toofless! I did take the square I had to cut from the 1 and I made a slit down the middle to slip around the stem and then taped it back into place!

As always:thanks: amigos!:smoking:
Looking good, but be careful spraying your plants with lights on, I dont advise it at all. In fact, I think healthy plants dont need to be sprayed and if you do spray...keep lights off while it dries. Moisture on leaves with stong lighs can cause issues. Just my opinion, some people spray the main stalk and avoid leaves in the light. Good luck, slow

Super bro, good work - as slow stated spray not recommended unless at night, remember Mark, less is more - let them grow ..... on the cover crop be careful putting under compost as while decaying it can rob soil of nitrogen - I just let breakdown on surface .... Also you might wanna get a better grade of tape that duct tape is falling apart already - personally I use gorilla tape And invest in some sand an put around hole - you don’t want gnats!

Ya I have gorilla tape too but after dancing around the plants trying to get taped up with the cheap stuff 1st my back was hurting so figured could survive til today on the crap tape! Also those freaking mites have made it to the earthbox in 2x4 tent even without me going from big tent to small so gonna order some rove beetles to eat em and can eat any new invaders that try to get in! I’ll add sand and whatnot but wanna get some predator bugs inside 1st! Also I usually don’t spray in the light and it was actually kelp foliar spray and my lights really low! I’ll do just before lights out next time! And should I go ahead and chop cover crap now so it can break down before I need to add compost top dressing to them??

Bugs, bugs, bugs they bug me .... you’ll be fine if You break their cycle ....

Keep covers on, tighten up and put mason sand and/or Diatomaceous earth in voids - If gnats can’t get into the soil their life cycle will be broken .... Of course you can use sticky traps, sprays and predators insects as well - good luck with those devils .....

Cover crop put o top of compost - we don’t want it breaking down in the soil, we want it to break down on top .....

Spray can be beneficial but try to avoid the top side of the leaves - spray underside and stems ok but avoid on top of leaves, even if done when turning off lights - Understand we want faster growth but sometimes, actually most times, less is more .....

Keep up the good work and hope your back improves!

Thanks buddy I did this yesterday as I know it’ll need a mid veg topdress of EWC and gotta go grab oly compost so I busted out the scissors and chopped the cover crop on 1! Since it was going crazy how’s this for now??

I did pull the majority of cover crop as I chopped it I tossed it into a bowl off to the side so didn’t take forever breaking down on top of soil or worse like last time continually keep rooting itself and growing back.

Good start ......

After compost ..... Cover the soil with sand and/or Diatomaceous earth and then custom cut cover from cardboard to fit over the top - remove cardboard only when watering - you’ve got to eliminate those nasty guys - if not cardboard use whatever but only true solotion is to break their life cycle ...... of course add predators and sticky traps - good luck!

I actually have sticky traps if needed but I do already have plenty of diatomaceous earth I can put down! I haven’t had any kind of invaders yet except those mites that came from worm bin and they must be composter mites of some species cuz those earthbox jr’s right beside the 2 solo cup plants and the 2 in the bags those little bastards haven’t moved from under the covers on the boxes! Did notice once I pulled the few old carrot scraps from my bin so only had straw n newspaper & cardboard so no actual organic matter those mites left awfully damn fast! I had some on surface of big earthbox under cover when I popped it off and saw lil eggs all over soil surface and had 1/2 an avocado leftover that I stuck into the soil for wormies and I noticed leaving cover off that wasn’t but very small amount of eggs on soil surface anymore but when I pulled the avocado to see if worms were eating it I noticed shit ton of eggs and mites all over the actual fruit side of avocado! Just leaving til bedtime and then I’m pulling it and tossing it so all those eggs go bye bye! Gonna order some predator mites and should I also cover surface of the earthboxes with diatomaceous earth also to kill off some mites! Worms are active just below surface especially right after pulling the cover but don’t see near the activity around avocado I expected so worried the mites are thriving and multiplying in that super moist environment eb creates?!? :thanks: as always for the pointers buddy! :d5:

SORRY FOR THE HUGE COLLAGE HERE
Tonight I don’t really have much exciting updates I can do on these so for those that either aren’t gladiators or are but just don’t follow em I’ll post my final results from my solo cup plants! The 1st 2 were nothing spectacular and only got 9.9 and 15.8 g’s off them so was mainly learning experience with em
Here’s #3 plant and my spare zkittles :woohoo1:

And for the 1 that wound up as my official entry which I lucked out since had to choose on day 30 so had no clue how these would turn out! Also glad when I was getting them and jiffy got too wet (rookie mistake  ) but I popped a 2nd a sure enough when jiffy dried up some the damn thing came to life on me! Think each zkittles dry weight will give me more than 1st 2 gave me combined!:headbang:

Looking at it from bottom u can see pumice layer I added to hopefully help keep roots from growing out drain holes! Plan failed and grew around whole layer of the stuff!

Was a learning experience and was fun but I’ve had my fill of small pots for a minute! Why I went opposite way and got the earthboxes that were bigger than all my previous pots and not needing to water daily (at least not now) makes it less of a pain in the ass also! :smoking:

Experience is the best teacher - thought about doing a solo cup but thought wait a minute, wife and I could smoke up an entire plant in a good weekend so I went for the other end of the scale ....

Watering - I like to tend and care for plants so watering was a passionate pleasure but I’m finding the earthboxes as so much easier and more efficient- when I did pots and boxes together I discovered my worms multiplied in the EB but died in the pots and right then I knew EB was the way to grow .....

Keep doing what your doing Mark - growing is one big experiment!
