Mephisto Genetics Mark SIP grow Toofless alien and gold glue

Attention Earthbox homies.... and non earthbox for that matter.... but do any of y’all use malted barley as topdress?? I know craft blend has some in it but been reading how well it works for microbes life and also READ THE WORMS LOVE IT TOO! Just wondering cuz my local guy actually has the good build a soil organic malted barley (NOWHERE ELSE NEARBY HAS IT) but his is think was $36 for 6lb and BAS charges $40 for 7lb! Need to grab the oly so wanted to get all I needed while I was there! Thanks for the input growmies!

U got it! Just curious since worms eat it too! :thumbsup:Figured they’d want more than straw with kelp n rock dust! Guess oly compost which I’m getting today! I’ll take new pics tomorrow but I did tape it up with the gorilla tape to make sure covers were all sealed up! Oh also I don’t have gnats so not sure why I keep getting directed to attack em at the source. There is no source just got couple old sticky cards hanging just in case! I do have those mites in the boxes but they don’t wanna leave and move to other pots or even up on the plants in the boxes. Stay under covers eating on compost n stuff I imagine?!?

Variety is good - dampen compost before applying.

Good luck with the Toofless Alien, I love this strain, lovely taste and a solid hit!
They grow really easily, no fuss, always a beautiful looking plant covered in juicy trichomes. 6.5 to 8.5 ounces dry.... done 4 of them, and just run out... I'm well happy Mephisto are releasing her again... you're in for a treat mate!

Ok for this update gotta hit up my earthbox amigos @MrOldBoy & @slowandeasy Damn boys 2 days ago got pics of the 2 mephisto just before I topped em off with the good stuff! Both got some dolomite lime, rock dust, kelp meal, grokashi and mix of like 70/30ish EWC & Oly mountain compost! Damn what a diff the 2 days has made!:woohoo1:

As you can see other than like 2 pairs a ways back tried just tucking all I could on her but she is staying so short and stout that all the secondary satellite growth is now officially being blocked by couple fans again and nowhere to tuck em! :smokeit:

Definitely can easily see the growth daily in these things now! I raised the light to 21” after I topped em off and noticed today was only 14.5” over toofless so jacked it up! Not sure how I’ll work this since separate heat sinks only take me so far! Guess it’ll be supercrop time or I’ll bust out my spools of wire and go ahead and run the drivers outside the tent! That’ll make em more maneuverable over the 2! Also grabbed group shot of em

My other question I had for y’all is without a crazy tentstake collection like señor MoB how the hell do I train these in here?? I have a roll of some Velcro I could run around outside and get some of those Velcro plant ties but not sure if it’ll work??
Any clues fellas I’d appreciate it!!!

Candy Cane Training - easy as pie ..... First get your collection of tent pegs and then just hang them like you would candy canes on a XMAS Tree ..... In the case where the fan leaves are blocking the lower simply put the CC on the leave stem and pull over to one side .... No Velcro or Straps or tie downs required ..... Over the years I collected an assortment of tent pegs and a couple hanging basket extension hooks and that’s what I use .... @slowandeasy started with tent peg purchase from the Jungle Giant ..... do know the tent pegs come in different lengths and steel or aluminum and even plastic ..... The steel are heavier but the aluminum have a nice roundness to them, I use both and sometimes hang two or three - even up to five on a stem ..... Good luck in getting your collection together - sure beats the heck ouT of wire and strings

Mark looks outstanding- Go-ahead and in about ten days add another cup or so of oily mountain but nothing else unless you want to wash and grind up some egg shells - they might not do much this grow but next grow they will help and that will help worms digest the Oly Mountain BUT crush them up real fine and make sure they are clean - I let mine dry for a week or so in the sun before crushing ..... anyways again Outstanding Bro, keep up the good work - You should be seeing almost hourly growth now that the roots have formed nicely - oh add some Mammoth P or EM1 to your water but nothing else, the soil is loaded and you don’t want overfeed - remember less is more bro!

Here is my collection - the long white ones are very useful for tall plants like the one you have - I got these in Carter Era and have looked for similar with no luck but some heavy wire and a pipe bender and you could make your own - good luck Mark And stay safe bro!

Thanks buddy and man that Oly compost seems to be some good stuff indeed! Even just topdressing the 2 dinafem ladies had them quite a bit larger 48hrs later....or I’m hallucinating... cuz man I had to bust out plant stakes and tie em open which hadn’t planned on doing but plans changed! :crying:

Saw a gnat on pot yesterday after adding the Oly and some EWC but got liberal with the diatomaceous earth on the bags and around stems on the earthbox ladies! Also added a sticky card area to each and will get nematodes and beneficial insects as needed!

Unless I’m imagining things they seem to be loving the stuff! Also pretty crazy that even after having the bag like 4 weeks when I use the EWC from that local place I still see tons of babies in there and the are still alive! Plus in the juniors when I pull cover back see bunches of lil ones just below the surface doing their thing! MammothP I can add to list of supplies and did already mix some of that em1 bokashi into soil mix but didn’t go overboard cuz wasn’t sure how much to add!

Worms seem to love the Oly so I like it ..... If you have EM1 don’t get mammoth p - they are almost the same - I add a little with most watering s but not always, sometimes I’ll just go straight water for 3-4 gallons but I’m using rainwater which is different than tap ......

Plants while looking good, might be lacking one item and that would be wind - wind is required to build good strong branches to hold up the buds - wind sweeping across the plants from several directions is good - I had five fans in my oversized 2x4 and even six at one point .....
