Mephisto Genetics Mark SIP grow Toofless alien and gold glue

Worms seem to love the Oly so I like it ..... If you have EM1 don’t get mammoth p - they are almost the same - I add a little with most watering s but not always, sometimes I’ll just go straight water for 3-4 gallons but I’m using rainwater which is different than tap ......

Plants while looking good, might be lacking one item and that would be wind - wind is required to build good strong branches to hold up the buds - wind sweeping across the plants from several directions is good - I had five fans in my oversized 2x4 and even six at one point .....

Man if you’d believe it I ordered 2 monkey fans to add and the damn things showed up Monday and 1 sounds like the bearing gonna melt with oscillation on and number 2 didn’t turn on at all! :crying: They are shipping 2 more to me now and gonna add 1 to the remaining 2 tent poles! I’ll move the vivosun over to that side to give some extra wind on them til it arrives! I spent the extra and got a ax infinity duct fan instead of fan on the roof blowing fresh air in and this new 1 on low makes my tent walls expand like a holiday yard ornament! And sold out now so can’t get a 2nd so 1 pulls fresh in and other cycles hot air from top out so gotta improvise some how!
Wish I had a par meter so I could see what qb cranks out and if all else fails I have the autocob I can use if I get big enough bush in full size in 2x4 but still got some time there!

Also MoB I did wind up catching a few lil gnats in my stickies so hopefully putting em down with the DE for now will do trick and if I need more advanced measures I’ll attack as needed!

Definitely hoping I don’t see some pop outta soil down the line but gonna bottom water til I feel they are gone! May get couple more boxes of nematodes to add in just to help fight the good fight too! Helped last time deliver knockout blow and didn’t see any more afterwards!

I use MBP and neem meal top dressed for gnats and it works great. Coot also recomenedds using MBP, that in combination with traps works well I had a bad infestation in my last grow.

12$ box of nematodes off amazon annihilates them. but i never had a really really bad infestation..i always throw the todes in if i see more that 5 gnats on a trap.. 1 application maybe 2 spread out a few weeks.. alot of wind really slows them down too..

You will be surprised how much the wind will help - it’s is a key and often overlooked ingredient, especially when grown in an open basement environment without a tent - in a tent environment folks know they need but often times don’t have enough flow coming from all angles - with a monkey fan in each corner that will be big help - good move .....

Gnats there are a lot of things you can do to minimize and covering those open pots is one of them - cover them in plastic, super fine steel wool, masons sand or cardboard cut to fit and/or combination of say sand and plastic - whatever you figure out, somehow cover them to break the cycle otherwise they will keep doing their thing and attacking any plant they come in contact with and / or get transferred from area to area ..... If you have them in your worm bin put bin outside with warmer weather they should be fine but one thing you’ve got going for you is the new growth will be tough for gnats to destroy its so fast ......

Keep up the good work - gardening is an experiment that we learn from ..... Peace MOB

That pop bottle is wide open for those gnats to get in. Might want to cover it up. Any openings near stems are gnat magnets. Having a bunch of open pots along with the SIPs is going to keep the around longer thsn they would be with all covered pots. Hopefully those nematodes help. You have to break the cycle on ALL the plants, not just some. Be extra cautious and act like they arent gone, even if you tbink they are. Pest management still ahould be a routine, for prevention. Especially with Worm bins and Organics. Remember, they do teir damage where you cant see them...in your soil. If you have flyers, there are plenty more in the soil that are destroying your roots. No mercy.ercy is for the weak, Finish them!

I’ll go hog wild with some extra DE while waiting and try to figure a way to cover that bottle til stem strengthens! It was so stretched in rootmaker urging just autocob it was flopping over sideways so had to transplant AND ADD THAT to get it to stay upright! Luckily it’s moving along now and hopefully amazon delivers soon! I can also order some rove beetles or something that’ll eat em up underneath the earthbox covers if they slip in! I did order like 15-16 extra junior covers and have 4 full size extras local guy gave me! Maybe I’ll take 1 full size and cut out any pieces I may need! I got tons of diatomaceous earth down on the 2 radicle bag pots but what else should I put over soil to help kill em off? Last time I saw them in 2x4 the DE + sticky cards killed 9 before nematodes arrived and 1 was killed after and never saw another rest of grow! Hopefully can destroy them quick again!

The problems are the ones you dont see, but the ones you DONT SEE are in your soil already doing damage. You are on top of things, which is key. 9 turn into 900 qyickly if not addressed early and often. Once you finish your current plants, my suggestion would be to run caps on all of your plants. I even put caps on my Autopots this round. It is like theowing a gian Condom on your plants. Its a lot harder for pests to get into the rootzone with a cover on. More protection from pests the better when using Organics.
These bugs have super sniffers and love to join in on decaying organic material parties. The upside to not using Caps is that you typically see the pests more so than with caps on. The longer they go undetected, the harder it is to treat them. Realistically 95% of people dont get rid of gnats completely their first attempt. But a vast majority THINK they did a better job than they really did and assume they are gone. Chances are they never left. They go in cycles, so you can them down to almost extinction...ALMOST isnt good enough in the pest world. Multi angle approach is the best way to rid them. Be dilligent. They dont give up trying to multiply, That they are good at. Keep Yellow Stickies around forever. Dont tske them away in a few weeks assuning they are gone. Remember, they attack the weakest plants first. Many healthy plants can flourish, even with pests around. But once their health is compromised, they smell the difference and will be attracted to the least healthiest plants first. That is why I highly suggest tossing any effected plant that is clearly behind in growth and health. Meaning if you have 6 Sour Cracks and 1 is obviously hit up harder than the rest. Dont try to nurse that really bad one back to health and get the other ones infested during the process. Sometimes we have to be willing to cut our losses, in order to keep the entire garden pest free as possible. Just keep your eyes open, yellow stickies out, and stay on top of things. If you can manage to keep the numbers down, they often wont even effect your plants. IPM is something we should all be doing, vs waiting for them to come to us. Lets learn from the Coronavisus pandemic. Taking extra steps in life to stay as healthy as possible is the NEW way of life, so I believe we should embrace the changes and apply them to other parts of our lives. Good luck, slow

I BELIEVE IT!!! I just had one die out on me on Monday! Honestly think it only worked for 6 months! Luckily I had another brand new in the box for backup!!! NOT!!! Just like yours.... Dead on arrival! My local store is great. I went down to see about an exchange on the brand new dead unit and see if I there was any recourse or warranty on the other... They didn’t have any others in stock, so I asked if it would be ok if I just took a store credit to use when they’re back in stock. They just wanted to give me money back and with everything going on in the world the last thing I want to do is take money from a small business. I’d much rather support it. Long story getting to the point (sorry! Lol) they had the 30 watt fans for a little more which are 10 watts more than the monkey fans I brought back and are slightly larger but are not oscillating fans- I figured I’d put 2 in opposite corners and I’d be good. So I’m writing all this to tell you that those 30 watt fans are MUCH MUCH MORE powerful than the monkey fans. The low setting seems to be almost too strong IMHO unless your plants are at least halfway through flower! They are like a big bully pushing the wimpy kid around the schoolyard the entire recess! FYI for anyone who might be looking at fans! Hopefully it’s not too strong too soon for me and I can enjoy the benefits that MOB was touting in his post about the wind....

Thanks I have the cfm kit coming from gorilla tents for my 2x4 and it’ll help me so can have 2 non oscillating clip fans 1 blowing over canopy and 1 under and then I’ll have a monkey fan to oscillate on a tent pole and I have an ac infinity 6” duct fan pulling fresh cool air in all the time! Makes tent explode like a balloon tho so gonna get inkbird rh/temp combo controller to put humidifier on rh for low end and the duct fan on temp for high end! Or I’m about to take 1st $$ I’ve ever seen from this Prez and I’m buying a 10000btu ac unit for my bedroom! Then I’ll use 6” duct fan pulling cool air in bottom of tent and a 4” venting warm air from top (since hot air rises  ) but man my rooms getting toasty so ac will help my room and in turn the temps in the tents! Got wire and I’m running drivers outside tent once I get heat shrink! And on those radicle bag pots should I literally cover entire topof pot (so compost and all) and just bury it under a layer of sand?? I know you specified either masons or playground by forget which but obv would double check which to get 1st!! I put large amount of DE down, ordered 2X 5million boxes of nematodes, and I’ll order some live predator insects if nothing else! Don’t wanna be using no spray like Dr zymes stuff cuz they said worms didn’t like it so not chancing it! I’ll go natural pest management approach! Luckily have baseline from last time I fought the good fight!
Oh while I’m here quick update on these!

Totally loving these boxes! Thanks for advocating for em mís amigos! :d5: Had to do some trimming of few fans and some internal secondary satellite growth cuz was just staying totally under canopy and not sure how could train at this height! Maybe when taller won’t be difficult!
Speaking of taller :headbang:

Pistols popping and both seem happy as can be! Next Sat or so I’ll top off the Oly and stuff and decide if I want/need to order like build a flower or something! Also can’t really do a plastic cap on bags right now since got those plant stakes in and it all splayed open but any other options besides sand let me know what would work best to kill em and then plant to go back to feeding like normal etc when they are officially gone!
:thanks:

Coming along nicely .....

I see the monkey fan - don’t be afraid to lower the fan some so as to blow air over entire plant - you want the plant to bend in the wind, that will help strengthen their stems and support the buds ..... wind is important - I had six fans blowing on Sam - a couple where small fans and I had those on the floor blowing up / under and the other four coming from all corners of the tent ....

As @slowandeasy stated be vigilant and tighten everything up, including the openings around the stem - leave no open doors - another weapon is steel wool - cut some up and slip under the cap around the stem - the sfeel wool will slice them up - not an end all, just another weapon .....

BuildaFlower compost will be okay but with the Oly Mountain personally I would just use that - they are looking super - less is more!
