Fwiw those standing AC units dont work thst well compared to the Window units. They actually generate a lot of heat in the process of cooling. They work, some better than others. But a smaller wall unit is cheaper to buy and superior/ cheaper to run. Just being honest, if you have the option, window units are better by far. Keep your reciept, I took back.3 of those...found 1 LG that works well. We had 1 at a rental house of ours and the window unit was awesome. The Delonghi brand from Costco was aweful, some were almost useless. Creating heat and escaping. Just be aware that they are not as efficient and make sure the duct work is good going outside. Making heat to cool it down is counterproductive. Good luck, sloThat’s why I was asking about how to move those cuz ordered this today....
View attachment 1186497 Having to move whole 4x4 tent away from wall and think knowing what I know now I’ll put the 2 eb along back wall and those bags by the double doors cuz I can slide them to the side and step in to fill the boxes instead of having to bend and reach and still spill shit! I was gonna do like other box and tape an extra square in I can put around the stem (prob should loosen toofless bread tie now that I think of it since prob super tight on stem) but ya gonna tape it up and I’ll put sand when I top compost at that time! I’ll keep fresh DE and use some nematodes in the bags and hopefully when I pull earthbox covers it’s same as couple days ago when I checked straw etc and nothing comes flying outta them! :smoking:
Window wasn’t option where I live! Violates homeowners association rules so I researched a bunch and got a dual hose 1! The single hose sucks air from inside the room to cool condenser so makes pockets and struggles to keep cool where dual hose 1 is air inlet pulling air from OUTSIDE the room to cool condenser and then vents same air back outside so cools larger spaces faster! Also why I spen t what I did but if it sucks I’ll return it! Hoping I chose well cuz bedroom getting mad hot already!Fwiw those standing AC units dont work thst well compared to the Window units. I'm using it in my avocado bombs. Put it in coffee grinder to break it down. Also add some to my worm/compost binAttention Earthbox homies.... and non earthbox for that matter.... but do any of y’all use malted barley as topdress?? I know craft blend has some in it but been reading how well it works for microbes life and also READ THE WORMS LOVE IT TOO! Just wondering cuz my local guy actually has the good build a soil organic malted barley (NOWHERE ELSE NEARBY HAS IT) but his is think was $36 for 6lb and BAS charges $40 for 7lb! Need to grab the oly so wanted to get all I needed while I was there! Thanks for the input growmies!
I'll be putting nematodes in my boxes right at the start. I'm finding this type of growing is kind of like turning a big container ship--it takes awhile to happen. That pop bottle is wide open for those gnats to get in. Might want to cover it up. Any openings near stems are gnat magnets. Having a bunch of open pots along with the SIPs is going to keep the around longer thsn they would be with all covered pots. Hopefully those nematodes help. You have to break the cycle on ALL the plants, not just some. Be extra cautious and act like they arent gone, even if you tbink they are. Pest management still ahould be a routine, for prevention. Especially with Worm bins and Organics. Remember, they do teir damage where you cant see them...in your soil. If you have flyers, there are plenty more in the soil that are destroying your roots. No mercy.ercy is for the weak, Finish them!
I never had much luck direct planting in my pots but I did one in my eb and it has grown faster then the one I started 2 weeks earlier in a root riot.I would personally train that tall TA I believe it is. It is gonns get way taller. Candy cane train that cola before its too late. Things look really healthy. Keep up tbe good work. As @MrOldBoy points out, button up all holes in Juniors. Keep them pest free, to avoid any potential.issues further in your grow. I have to top dress a few plants tonight and move my one White Crack to the larger space. I would move both White Cracks now, but my Grape Rolex #2 and both Magic Cookies need a little more time. Grape ROLEX #2 will ge the Axe in 5 days. Purple Magic Cookies next, then Green pheno. I can let green pheno go 10 more days Purple 7 days. Planted 2 Iced Gushers and 2 Sour Cracks yesterday. All 4 should be up tomorrow. 1 of the Iced Gushers was barely cracked when planted, the other had a nice tail. Peaked in on them after 24 hours in Soil. I see the otjer Iced Gushers is buring its tap root nice and quickly. I am a firm believer that seeds should be soaked in a glass of water to activate the Germ process, but not for more thsn 48 hours. You will.have faster results if you plant them after 24-48 hour soak vs paper towel method. Even without a cracked shell I will.plant mybseeds after 48 hours. They tend to pop open quickly once you plant them in moist soil with some Mycos. Temps need to be 80-85 for best results. Will be soaking 2 Passion Punch seeds next Wed. Then Purple Rolex #4. Peace, slow
These things grow so thick and fast, you have to trim. I do a good cleaning out of the center daily and next morning looks like I hadn't touched them. I think you answered your own question. Me, I'm not into having to trim popcorn. Maybe if I had a good press or something---Cool cool buddy was hard to see but on toofless I used some longer wire ties and balled the end up to make lil weight on it and hung from couple upper branches to pull them down so they weren’t towering above the rest and sending apical dominance to that branch! Really 1st time trying lst more than just pulling a branch or 2 over to planter wall (and not really accomplishing anything ) but here trying to keep those top branches level and let some lowers catch up! And man gold glue had literally sat at like 8” tall for weeks and not sure if stretch time for her or if the co2 sample bottle I got is having any effect but she’s starting to move now too I’m thinking!
Kinda just dawned on me but if I had fallen behind on keeping the juniors reservoir full since took like 80% of a gallon to top it off could also be a reason it seems like plant had a major growth spurt (my logic o the situation anyways) but here’s goldy!
