TGIF, I get to post another update! The girls are 6 weeks old. I've been lowering the shelves every couple of days and spreading branches to keep the tops 12" from the 100w lights.
I switched from rainwater to tap water a couple of days ago. I'm mixing water/nutes in a 20-gallon trash can now, and I got a pump to stir it up. Each watering takes 1.5 gallons to get 10% runoff. Watering twice a day, that makes 21 gallons a week. Here's the girls:
Gnome Moth Man is 44 days old today, pre-flower I think (upskirt view and canopy):
Mephisto Double Grape #2 is 42. I hope she's about to flower (upskirt, canopy view):
Mephisto Double Grape #3 is 37 days old, but further into flower than the older girls. I thought I topped above node 6, but she has 14 main branches. Here's an upskirt view, and canopy view):
I've been taking off some lower leaves that don't get much light and get in the way of watering. I adjusted the spreader hoops from 9" to 12" diameter. I think I'll stop spreading and just do a little super-cropping on the taller colas as needed. My tap water has 140ppm of solids. They're still on the strongest feed mix (week 4-5 on the
feed schedule), which makes 1040 ppm (including what comes in the tap water). I thought about waiting for signs of too much Nitrogen before switching to the bloom formula, but I'm gonna go ahead and use bloom formula on the next 15-gallon batch of nutes (week 6-8 on the
feed schedule).
I'd appreciate any advice on when to switch to the lower nitrogen bloom feed.
I'm soaking the next 3 seeds today: Mephisto Mango Smile, ILGM Gold Leaf, and Gnome Moth Man (all autos). I still have more work to do on the grow room, but the girls seem satisfied for now. My jars are officially empty, except for 1/8 oz of Jelly Rancher from last Summer. All I have is some oil infusions. Counting on Double Grape to flower as fast as Mephisto claims!
Thanks for all the help. Much love to all you real Live Stoners!
