When growing indoors plant training may just be the most important aspect of increasing yield and quality of your buds. There are many diffrent techniques including LST, topping/fiming,super cropping, lollypoping ECT. This thread is for mainlining/manifolding. I'd suggest getting comfortable with LST and topping before attempting this.

***Step 1. Wait till your plants are at the 3-5 nodes I like to wait until I get 2 full sets of leafs. Even though you have 5 nodes cut her down at the 3rd so she's thicker and stronger.

***Step 2. Take the two nodes and tie them down to make the T shape to make your sturdy base for the frame to come.
[Tip: When mainlining symmetry is everything. Try and keep both sides equal and even as much as possible.]

***Step 3. After to have trained the two main stalks out around 6-8 inches from the main stem let them start to grow upward. At this point you can decide to let her grow out or top both mains again and repeat the process. Remember every time to do this you multiply your main colas.
Tip. Personally for autos I top the two mains twice more to get 8 large colas. This method dosent increase overall yield. It gives you massive colas instead of a bunch of little to mid size colas.

In conclusion top your plant at the 3rd node when you reach 5 nodes and tie down the new mains into a T shape. Then keep tieing them down while letting them recover and reach upward toward the light. Once your around 6-8 inches away from the main stem let them grow verticly and repeat the process as many times as desired while cutting off lower growth focusing the plants energy upward toward the new mains. And remember Symmetry is everything. The one photo with the X's shows where to cut the lower and undesired growth off.
Any other questions feel free to ask I will answer.

One tip I can pass on even as a newbie. Get yourself a pair of old guy cheater glasses.

I'm having issues with Humboldts strains not autoing. Every other plant in the grow has autoflowered but all the Humbolt strains and they are the oldest. I'm not happy about it. My mephistos and autoseeds are doing as advertised as usual. This is the first and last grow with Humbolt. Here a white crack that I got going. Big solid buds.View attachment 1073282 View attachment 1073284
What was your resolution with the Humboldts? Wondering if I'm not having same issue. I'm middle of 7 weeks and no signs-that I can see- of switching to bloom.

3 days ago I switched to bloom nutes to see if I could kick start it. Wondering if I should try changing light to 12/12 or will I mess up the auto (if it is auto)

Dude your preaching to the choir. All 12 of mine are photoperiods no autoflower traits what so ever. The bubba are at 60 days no sigh s of flower. I took a bunch of clones and put the hos in 12/12 and they started to flower. Don't wait to long or you will be up shits creek with me with 5 foot tall plants touching your lights at preflower. It's really fucked up my perpetual grow timelines and my grows all over the place now. Really really really pissed off with Humbolt. And not so much as a reply to any of my messages or posts on the subject.

That sux to hear. Stuff happens and IMO, how a company deals with it is everything. Happy customers are worth more than 1000's of dollars in advertising. I wish Amazon would start sellin seeds.

Humboldt has a good reputation with photos, but I said last year they very obviously don't understand autos and were just bandwagon jumping when they introduced their auto line.

I hate to hear that you had bad luck with them but I'm not surprised.

HSO? Like our @HSO-Mark ?

Or the Cali Humboldt?

I "think" I may have dodged a bullet and there really is a Santa Claus. Sunday I had trimmed all the big fan leaves off and it was all pretty sparse. Monday I started hitting em with bloom nutes.and practically overnight they filled in and up 2".

Unless my newbie eyes are deceiving me, today when I went to water, I started to poke around a bit and I believe these are the signs of starting to bloom?

Hunh! And I thought manifold/mainline was the same.
"
How is mainline training different than manifold training?
Both mainline training and manifold training are techniques to produce plants with eight main branches or colas. Mainline training involves topping the plant three times at symmetrical nodes to produce eight equal main branches or “colas”. Manifold training produces eight main branches with only two toppings by preserving four branches on each side of the plant during the second topping. Defoiliation done correctly will trigger the plants growth response witch is sounds like you did. Your plants look really nice and organized and symmetrical.
