Do you pinch and twist the stem before bending so it doesn't snap or is it preference?

Yes or no. If it's super stiff, you've gotta' work it back and forth. Sometimes you can just bend it right over. When they are small, I use wire shaped like a U to hold it down.

Wanted to clarify. When I say pinch, I don't super crop my autos (some do) I gently rock back and forth until the plant does what I want. Here's a LST at day 44.
