Bottom panel is simply a piece of mesh that has a slight dome shape, similar to the bottom of a net pot. in fact, shallow net pots with a wide lip would just be perfect as a base.

Doesn't have be an expensive polymer? any plastic that can be bent with heat should do, if a gas soldering iron and the right tip you could hand press one in a few minutes.

Awesome thread riz

I have a question for you if you don't mind?...

On page 1 you posted up you're feeding sched.... How much is 'a little grow' or 'a little bloom'?.....per ltr say:lol:

I've got 4 on the go and I'm on week 8 ATM and using the same nute line and soil as you but with much less desired results...

I think its a case of too little too late but as this is my 1st auto grow blah blah blah basically i fooked it up :o

Any advice for a noob?

Don't mind the questions at all if ye don't mind a few back and a ramble :peace:

Different stains and setup make a big difference, these ak's are well capable of producing more than they have done here so i am limited by my mistakes, like temps, but some strains are smaller in general and only rarely give big pheno's. What are ye growing? What size/type of pots are they in? Did ye pot up and when? What light setup do ye have? any ventilation? Whats your high and low temps? Humidity and finally have you ever checked the PH of the water that runs out of the pots? Plant magics organic nutes bring hard water PH down quite a lot, the soil buffers it back up fairly quickly but you can't feed in every watering if yer not able to PH the water every time, in my case i can't be fucked PHing the water every time but i know that on the day of feeding the PH will drop to around 6 on run off, 2 days later on watering PH runs off at 6.5. 2 days later on watering it runs off at 6.8. Then back to a feed taking it down again. Because i've watched it in the past and am very confident in the quality of plant magic soil's ability to buffer the PH i tend to ignore it until i have to rule it out as a problem. other people swear by PHing in soil all the time but i;m too lazy but if i had to then i would and may just be the cause of your problem.

I'd love to be able to give you an accurate answer but the truth is i don't measure. at first i used a syringe but i just ended up making more mess so i fill a 10 litre water bottle almost to the top, The last feed they got was all bloom and it was a their strongest dose, to try and guess at the amount though i'd say about 2-3 tablespoons worth. At the begining it's just the lightest pour into the bottle i can do which is prolly about teaspoon then it just gets bigger pours or little pours from multiple bottles from there.

For example, week 2-3 and 4-5 they will get a mix between grow and bloom, prolly about 1 or 1.5 tablespoons in the 10 litre in total, 1st one would be .25 bloom and .75 grow, the second would be 1 bloom and .5 grow then scale the grow down and out as they bloom rises and the total rises. I judge it based on the tips of the leaves. this grow gave me virtually no yellow tips and only started getting nute problems when temps were down at 50 and they couldn't get any phosphorous.

If yer using plant magic soil and not potting up i'd suggest a tea or top dressing of something fertile at about week 3-4 and again at about 6-7. If your doing organic, try a dose of bat guano and worm compost tea or just work some into the top of your pots as there should be some space with the soil compacting with watering.

Plant magic's boost isn't quite a fetilizer but it does the same job, it makes yer soil more crumbly so more airy for the roots, it also frees up more nutrients in the soil for the plant. I dunno how this works but i love the way it changes the soil and the rootballs of ones grown with have so far been bigger than those grown without.

Plant magic's essence is also an amazing little product, use it as a spray at least once and you will colonize your leaves with a micro-culture that will protect them from pretty much everything nasty, not 100% but gives them a resistance to a lot of pathogens and makes them unatractive to bugs, the water than run's off the leaves will contain bacteria that will colonise the soil and help break down more micronutrients for your plants to use.

Post up a diary with some pics so we can all chip in an opinion on whether it's too much or too little, how much longer ye might have left to help em finish with a better yield.

Nothing more satisfying then seeing a bunch of happy bushes that are filled with buds, buds in the jar, and ladies geting ready to bud

Not at all man, Tyvm for the time +rep

I got 2 easy ryder and 2 diesel ryder in a 60/60/120cm tent under 250w hps start to finish.
Potted up bout 2/3 weeks in ish into 1.7gl sq pots.
Pretty sure temps and humidity is not my issue-high 85f, low 65f-humidty 40 low, 60 high.
Run off 6.3 atm.

This is where i think i got things wrong...
Being a autonoob i only gave the poor girls 1 feed of grow (very week feed) as soon as they started showing sex and that was all the grow they had.
After that it was just bloom all the way eventually stopping (last weekend) at about 5ml per ltr.

I did top up the pots but only with more soil, Will def use the bat shit next time.

Gonna get me some of this too, Read a lot about it but never hear of anyone using it.

Yea i should do a diary but i think i'll leave it to the next 1 coz i'm in 9 weeks as of today and think its just too late to do anything now
Will put some pics in the infirmary tho, hopefully someone can tell me what's going wrong and where.
Got some snowstorm #2 and blackjack for my next effort so will def do a journal for that
.

Sorry for hi-jacking your thread mate and thanks again:peace:

I don't see it as hijacking mate, i dunno that many other people using the plant magic range so it's cool to know others are trying the same as me.

So the chopping has started, i forgot to take a pic before i nipped up and chopped the smallest of the 5 that are left. but i've got pics of it trimmed up ready to be hung. Grabbed some other pics to so enjoy the porn and expect more as each of the other 4 get trimmed.

this is the 2 x 125cfl tent with 10x ak47 in airpots and 5 x fem haze photo's for another project in small pots. The 10 ak's all sprouted today and 4 out of 5 of the hazes, all were planted directly in soil on Tuesday night.

Then whats left in the tent, bottom right one has just been chopped for trimming now. Things are getting a bit crispy as i didn't do that much trimming of necrotic leaves, smells skunky as fuck!

And this is the dwarf thats just been trimmed, stuck her on the scales as you see her and she weighed in at 125 grams, so without the stems i might get 3/4 off her.

The lanky bush sativa pheno i chopped a few days ago has dried really quick, maybe too quick and a little too dry, but i'm hoping the jars will bring some moisture back out, we'll see how it goes. Still sticky as fuck and the smell is eye watering.

Here she is on the scales. I tared the scales so what you see is just weight of the calyxes and stems, i'm leaving her on the stems so true weight will be about 1/3rd less i'd say.

That sativa joint was so smooth n tasty, such a joy. the stone has quite can't be fucked feel, thats prolly why it's taken me so long finish trimming up that next one, the rest will need to wait till tomorrow!

Oh aye almost forgot to mention, stuck a jar on the scales and tared them, then stuck her in the jar as ye see below and she came in at 240 grams stems and all, so maybe 1.5 oz - 2oz? dry?
