I wanted to call this thread "Jump the gun" because my cabinet still pretty much looks like this:
but because the carpenter is coming in this week to lay the floor for the room this is going to stand I went ahead last Saturday and put down my first seed or PolarLight #2 from Dutch passion and now its resting in my temporary setup
So I done some stuff very different this year from how I normally do thinks
First of all I used to be very old school and only grew photoperiod regular cannabis seeds, separated the males from the females, grow all females together, took clones of those I thought looked the best and then selected a mother to clone after smoking then ready weed but now as I don't have the space or the singles life to go all the way with my hobby so I am going for small and autoflower to fit my medical need and also fight the black markets because each of us here is a little bit of an hero
Now lets look at how I did this different this time and just want to say that I am influenced by spending a year in an organic farming school, does not mean I am going 100% organic, I still grow DWC and still use CANNA aqua nutrition but this time I am treading the plants a bit different
First of all the rockwool cube was soaked for 2 days in 64 PPM rain water that I brought up to 200 PPM with CANNA rhizotonic, I did not pre-soak the seed as now I have stopped that practice, if you have quality seeds then I see no need in doing so and now in the last years I have totally stopped unless I am unsure if the seed is good or not, instead I directly plant the seed 5mm into the middle of the cube and scratch some wool over the hole to cover up the seed and place the cube into a plastic container with some holes, I spray the inside of with water, place the container under some CFL until its sprouts and then place it directly into a net pot filled nearly half the way up with clay pebbles and place it into my DWC tote, I place the plastic tote over the net pot to keep the moister over 30% and under 50%, I am using around 14 liters of nutrition solution that I set to 500 PPM of strength with both canna aqua vega and rhizotonic
18 ml of canna and 36 ml rhizo (or about)
Now as my seedling sits in the net pot with good 3-4 cm of clearing from the bottom of net pot and a good centimeter between the net pot and water I am not super worried about the strength of the solution for such a young plant even though most sites say "dont use any in the start" and so on I am going to throw that caution into the fucking wind as its been doing fine since it sprouted 1 of December
so here she is after reaching around 4-5 cm while I slowly covered her each day with more clay pebbles until she reach the brim and this happened
Now I am just going to keep the nutrition strength stable until I get 2-3 nodes then we see what I do but probably going to higher the solution to 600-650 by only adding some more Canna Vega but keep the rhizo at the same level but time only tells because even though I use CANNA's grow guide http://growguide.info/
I am just using it as a calculator to set a base line and because I am lazy
So hopefully in next week I will start training her for the potlympics and finish of the grow closet so she can get the real deal, right now the heat is 28c and I am keeping it down by placing a frozen bottle behind the resivor twice a day so I cant wait to get her into the right environment with prober air exchange and hopefully perfect enviroment though time will tell
Thanks for reading and lets see how this goes
