I really hate it when instructors say "this will be a 5-7 page paper" and I'm on page 7 after finishing the first section & still have two more sections to do. It makes me question if I'm going above & beyond or if they just underestimate what they're really asking for from their students.
Now I'm on the pulling the paper out of my rear section...anyone from Australia here that wants to contribute to a cultural comparison report? Kind of thankful I chose a culture similar to the United States.

Way back in the horse and buggy days when I had a professor say a 5 - 7 page paper was required they would do that mostly to set the bar low for a barely passing grade.

Luckily I am anal so mine would end up being 15+

It's what got me my 4.0 all the way through

@HashMaster I'm sitting on a 4.0 for the term and have three finals next week. I already took the final for this class so that I could see how hard I would have to tug the paper out of my rear. I only need a 50% on it to maintain the 4.0 in the class. Trying to hash out what the instructor is expecting from her vague instructions is driving me crazy. At least I know I'm not the only student questioning the vagueness.

I always thought they do that just to see who tries to slide by...
