What are you planning in using for your soil? Bagged living soil (BAS, Sohum CoM) or mix your own?

I'll probably try out either BaS or Sohum first and then graduate over to my own mixes as I understand it better. At least the premixes will give me peace of mind in the beginning but I'd like to be self sufficient with it eventually.
