Recovering slower than normal this time but I feel a little better today.

Being old is good, getting old is hard.


If you put a simple salt water softener in front of a 1:1 RO system the membrane filters will last for thousands of gallons. Ca, Mg are hardest ions for the membranes in an RO filter to remove and will shorten the membranes life. If you put a simple water softener in front of the RO it will remove the Ca Mg and replace with sodium ions. Sodium ions are bigger and very easy for the membranes to filter. The waste water will be too salty for plants as is but can be diluted with some untreated water to make viable for yard use.

Ro is out for me because I am on truck delivered water, too costly to throw the bulk of it down the drain. Good information though should we move into town, because the water in there is what we have delivered, and water in town is not metered.

Been a busy day, stuff got done...wife happy with her new power chair...lil fvcker can move.....4 out of 6 pots up, dropped a few more beans to hedge my bet in case the others are no show....gonna be a burn barrel day tomorrow cause it's full of weeds and mt 2 trash can are full plus a bit more odd scraps of lumber and tree leavings to get rid of.....only thing left for today is dishes, coffee and figure out what's for dinner tomorrow...maybe cube steak....
