We haven't been getting big snows for a few years. We got our reputation in the "great blizzard of '77," 10 feet in one week, with extreme cold and high winds. People died in their cars stuck on the thruway. I was on one of my adventures in Colombia at the time and I read about it in a small-town newspaper at a barber shop in 110°F heat.

We had the blizzard of ‘78 in New England. People stranded for days on the highway, and hubby mobilized through the National Guard rescuing people. 44 years have passed and still talks about it.
