My state has numerous bills up for a vote this fall, But we've got an asshat of a governer that still has a 1950s, Reefer Madness mindset, So having it descheduled federally should (hopefully) tell him what the people want.
Semi related, apparently they made a "reefer madness: the movie musical" in like 2005? I think? We started watching it recently and then switched to half baked cause I guess there was a reference hubby caught and he had a "gotta do it now" urge

Florida keeps changing the rules on submitting ballot initiatives.....
On June 17, 2021, the Florida Supreme Court ruled 5-2, with the majority opinion written by Chief Justice Charles Canady, that the measure's ballot language was misleading and therefore could not appear on the ballot......Even though the language was approved in that form in 2019 when it was submitted for checking before signature gathering started.
There is a new initiative now is for 2024, the measure would allow adults 21 and older to use and possess cannabis. They could also grow up to nine plants for personal use. The initiative would not provide for retail sales.
Since possession or sale of over 20 grams of marijuana is a felony and can carry a sentence of up to 30 years and a $50,000 fine. Possession or sale of hash or marijuana concentrates is also a felony in the state.
Possession or sale of 20 grams of marijuana or less is a misdemeanor. Those convicted may receive a one-year sentence, a maximum fine of $1,000, and may have their driver’s license suspended.
That's why I'm still considering getting a med MJ card...just to cover my ass a little.
