The thermometer is on the table...with the girls.....coz that is where I Need to be checking the temp......... @Cerebral Goo

It would be exactly the same if I had it on the patio paving stones...coz it is in direct sun.

Headline temperatures are temperatures in the Shade.....

Same world wide.....remind me tomorrow and I'll check the shade temp too

The other day it was high 50'sC..but only 34C in the shade..............my girls are not in the shade......

The plants can handle it as long as they have enough water. You can get a much better idea of the plant's temperature with one of these:

You can take the leaf temperature.

@Frank the Dank I think I told you before that too much protein caused me to get kidney stones. I have found that I need about 20% of my diet to come from healthy carbs to keep my blood from becoming too acidic. This is what starts the kidney stones to form.

@420Forever My Dad used to raise hunting dogs. Young dogs almost always got into skunks but just one time. He would not wash them off until the next day. He claimed that the dogs learned in one night to leave skunks alone because they don't like the smell any more than we do. He had a kennel far from the house for stinky or noisy dogs. Then he washed them in tomato juice and baby shampoo then rinsed them in douche powder mixed with water. You could still smell the skunk on them but it was not repulsive. It did seem to work as all his older dogs left skunks alone.
