@Cerebral Goo this is how we are rolling tonight though.. steel guitar hour! :shooty:

Always wanted to get a pedal steel, but mostly lived in smaller places in cities and lacked the room. May have to get one since I got the space.

The old lady(term of endearment) loves some Conway Twitty, George Jones, and all the "older" country. Always bad riding in the car with her and dad singing in different keys! :haha:

SoCal never gets the credit it deserves for country. So many great people with Bakersfield right there.

Dwight Yoakam has a talk show on Sirius that has some really interesting people with great stories. One great concept they were discussing was how Nashville country was more rooted in religion/church where as Bakersfield was rooted straight out of the honkey tonks. Then proceeds to play tunes to make the point with commentary in between..

He goes pretty deep with his guests about who played with who and on what albums. Pretty interesting if you're into those tunes or a player. As well versed as I am with obscure music I get schooled, whenever I listen! they always bring up players that ya never heard of. and then I gotta go down the wormhole chasing the artist. But I'm a geek like that!

Yeah my dad was super into the honky tonk bluegrass old blues type stuff for a while, he's the one who got me so into music. He had some buddies who owned a record store called bionic records (still around today) so He flooded me with music since I was a baby.
