That was ALWAYS a thought in my head. I had one of those Cuban heavy head machete and kept it razor sharp with a stone in my pocket. Had some close calls though!

Sounds like my left shin that I’ve carved 3 times. First one was the worst. January in the woods, cutting line and tried to cut this skinny 1” beech. Sliced and bounced off twice. 3rd time was the charm. Nicked to the bone, cut the top off my outer sock and bandages shin with that and flagging. Worked the rest of the day! Didn’t hurt after initial cut until 7pm that night. She throbbed for hrs. Went to work the next day! Shoulda had stitches or staples. Now I have a dead sensation spot about 2”x5” on the surface of my shin. Like when things get numbed by anesthesia. 2nd and 3rd time were “Mere Flesh Wounds” lol
