It is legal to grow cannabis in your private property in Spain.
The only restriction is that it cannot be in a public view!
If you are growing cannabis, then there is a limit to only two plants per household, it is not stated what size, so grow em as big as you can.
Cannabis trafficking is not allowed, but it is legal to buy and sell paraphernalia, the seeds, or other hemp products.
Smoking cannabis in public places is illegal! No smoking is allowed in streets,on public transport, in public parks, or even on the beach. If you are caught, you will pay a large fine, subject to jail time, and your bag of weed will be seized.
Cannabis clubs, you need to make sure the club is classified as a private space.
You can only smoke cannabis in the club (private space) or your own home (private space).

Thank you @arty zan for sharing your wisdom.

It seems like i need to find some friends down south to do some growing.

I like the concept that it has to be in a private place. The ones made that law have my respect.

Arty, you growing any at the moment?

Guys. I recently talked to a breeder in Spain. And according to him/her its legal with 5 plants per household there. And you guys wich i know are up to date are saying its not. What fact should i believe?

Look it up on NORML @Xmas ..they normally have the most up to date Laws.

I've not heard of any changes for the better....:headbang:....

The Catalonia-region they said 5 were okey.
decriminalized or something similar. Then it could just be a fine/bill for growing - which is in my book - legal.
This is similar to the State vs the federal government in the US.
Spain is divided up in to autonomous regions, some have a more lenient attitude to cannabis , where as others are more draconian.
The Basque's and Catalans are much more independently minded where cannabis and other issue are concerned!

Cannabis laws in Spain can vary by autonomous region. For example, in June 2017, Catalonia legalized the cultivation, consumption and distribution of cannabis for members of designated cannabis clubs. The clubs must be self-sufficient non-profit organisations and only distribute cannabis to those aged 18-years-old and over. Cannabis clubs in Catalonia are also limited to producing 150kg of dried cannabis a year and must follow rules intended to stop drug tourism.

In Barcelona, there are more than 220 cannabis associations, with an average of 300 to 400 members. Faced with their uncontrolled expansion, the city council tried to regulate them in 2016 by ordering that they could not be located within 100 meters of children’s parks and schools, that they install a double door and a lobby to prevent the interior from being seen from the street and that they must have smoke extractors on the ceilings.
Barcelona’s 200 cannabis clubs face closure after the supreme court shut a legal loophole that has seen the city become Spain’s marijuana capital.

It is the latest in a series of setbacks for the asociaciónes, as they are popularly known. In 2017, the court overruled a law passed by the Catalan parliament which said “private consumption of cannabis by adults … is part of the exercise of the fundamental right to free personal development and freedom of conscience”.

Since then the clubs have operated under a Barcelona city bylaw that regulated their use, but this too has now been overturned, with the judges ruling that the city authorities were not competent to legislate on matters governed by the state.

“The majority of associations assume that sooner or later they will be forced to close down,” said Eric Asensio, spokesman for the Federation of Catalan Cannabis Associations. About 70% of Spain’s cannabis clubs are in Catalonia, the majority in Barcelona.

So everything is still to play for and the push and pull between Catalonia and the Spanish Government rages on!

Details of the above information was found on the internet!

excellent summary of the situation. I feel pretty fortunate to be in Canada when it comes to freedom to use and grow cannabis.

Thank you for for your kind words @Xmas :d5:
I like to research cannabis legalities and I will also go off and google them and then bring home the fish, so to speak!
I try to get the latest info available, as time can alter the answers.
I hope you plan to grow outside of Sweden, Swedish drug/cannabis laws are barbaric!
I have had friends who have been busted there, it is not good!

What I do in my private space and what I put in my body are of no concern to other or authorities, as long as no one is getting hurt! That's how I view life and as such I can also like the Spanish law in the situation as it is less intrusive than the UK laws. Having said that If I walk through the main shopping district in my city, I will smell weed being openly smoked!

I have had 6 months with no grow, thanks to my ares of a landlord.
Swings and roundabouts, I shut down wait a while and just get going once the dust has cleared!
I get by as I am a light vaper of weed, now that I have vanquished the tobacco/nicotine!
I vape in the evenings and leave the day time to doing, what needs doing!
Weekends, I may wake and bake if the mood takes me.
I am planning a guerrilla grow and for that I am excited, this will be my first outdoor grow.
I have grown indoors for decades, so haven't need to grow outdoors but I need to grow outdoors now!
Starting up again indoors well that's is under review, I'll probably start a new indoor grow, when I find a new home!
