I cannot grow them over here to save me life....and it is annoying me........
...this one has done quite well to resist the yellowing so long....but it is going.
What I Think it is...our local water...we are in a very hard water area. On me trees it seems to be an over Calcium problem.

They are in Seedling compo...so no Hot compo....I have fed very sparingly..,and I have been adding a Mag feed twice a week...I've also stuck the Pot in the shade...coz they didn't like full sun last season.
Any Thoughts......?.....
yellowing on cucumber leaves is down to a few reasons, too dry substrate, too wet substrate and downy/powdery mildew which affects a lot of cucurbits and finally Mag def!
I do not imagine they are over watered! Growing veg in pot from my experience mean constantly watering them in hot weather as the pot dry out and also heated by the sun! Too dry or too frequent wet/dry cycle! Putting them in the shade means they transpire less and therefore the soil doesn't dry out from accelerated water up take by the plant. As mention the shade will also stop the pot from heating up, which will also evaporate moisture from the pot.
Downy/Powdery mildew, is a pain in the arse on cucurbits! They like water directly to their feet/roots and don't like water on their leaves.
A mix of Bicarbonate of soda and soft soap is a good preventative but you may need Bordeaux mixture (also called Bordo Mix).
Bordeaux mixture is a mixture of copper(II) sulphate (CuSO4) and quicklime (CaO)used as a fungicide. It is used in vineyards, fruit-farms and gardens to prevent infestations of downy mildew, powdery mildew and other fungi.
Bordeaux mixture is an effective fungus treatment it is
authorized for use in organic farming.
Interesting note Bordeaux mix was use to stop people nicking grapes and was spayed on the vine around the perimeter of the vinyard.
It was notice that it stop fungal infections and so Bordeaux mix was invented! The irony was if it had been discovered a few years earlier it could of prevented the Irish potao famine! The Irish potato famine was cause by "Blight" a fungal disease!
Avoiding neck rot in cucurbits.
Cut the bottom of a plastic bottle insert in to soil/substrate fill with small stones and carefully pour water in to the bottle, the water goes to the roots and help stop stem rot. Stem rot in cucumbers is also called damping off disease. It's caused by either fusarium, verticillium, or pythium in soil. Early signs are the lower leaves start wilting, turning to a darker orange-yellow tinge, then eventually brown. Warm and moist conditions hasten the spread of fungal spores.
Oh yeah, almost forgot try some Calmag or Epsom salts in a foliar spray for the yellow leaves & it should also help to make better fruits.
Those are my thoughts, I hope they are of use to you!
One of my yellow courgette plant with Downy/Powdery Mildew.
Plastic mulching, courgettes like warm feet/roots but also like moist soil.
The sun warms the plastic but the water doesn't evaporate.
Plastic mulch and watering points to stop "stem rot".
