I'm not sure if this is a silly question or not. Basically I have 2 plants on the go but one of them was a bit stunted at the beginning due to an issue so it's growth is about 2 weeks behind the other. So will the slow girl still be able to go full term but it'll just be after the other finishes or does it finish early underdeveloped because of its autoflower life expectancy? I hope that makes sense.

Not sure as I just gave slight nutrient burn and N-tox before even 3 weeks old and about to find out myself how things go as it did slightly stunt them I feel. I wish you luck and hopefully things turn around for you. Sorry I don't have an answer for you. Someone will come along that should have an answer. ....

I think I understood the questions. We've all stunted a few. :) Btw sometimes it can just happen through no real fault. So there's a few options and a few outcomes. Options are: cut the loss and kill it, watch it for awhile longer and still maybe kill it if it's in really bad shape later, or just let it grow and see what it does. :)

Outcomes can be: it's always going to be a bit behind and most likely take a little longer, or it halfway grows out of it and produces just a little less (most common), or it miraculously grows fully out of it and finies fine.

It might be a little retarded (in the literal sense), but will very highly likely still make good herb and be worth it. Most of the time they halfway grow out of it, usually just a lil shorter, making just a lil less herb. But! A big butt lol. Sometimes it might just go downhill and crash. I think I've only ever fully culled (technical term for killing a bad plant) once, one time, and it was just not going to make it. My advice is usually to just let her grow and see what it does. It likely won't finish early, usually the opposite, sometimes by a week or two later to finish. :)

It's thriving now, I would even go as far as to say it potentially could produce more than the one that's not had any problems. So for example say my autos have a predetermined life of 10 weeks but mine was stunted for 2 weeks will it's life now be 12 weeks?

Glad it's thriving! In most of my cases, the ones stunted early go on to do just fine, sometimes just produce a lil less. But again, these can be very interesting plants in that, in some freaky cases, early hardships can make the plant produce more. Some growers are really good at employing stress tactics to get their plants to make more, but that's a delicate line to walk and a whole 'nother level.

Well, the lifespans aren't really as set-in-stone or as hardcoded as that. The time they begin flowering is pretty well hard coded genetically, but after that, environment and a few other things can stretch or shrink the time to finish. It might go to 12 weeks from 10, it's hard to say. :) After they complete the last growth spurt (aka final stretch) is when you'll get a better feel for when they'll finish... but that takes some experience to get a feel for. These are tough plants to predict haha, part of what makes them so fun!

Anyway these are all good valid questions we've all had. :) I think you're doing good, keep growin and getting experience and things like this become more understandable.

This is actually my first attempt at an LST grow at first I didn't think it would yield much but now I'm liking it's progress. Thanks for your help and may you have a prosperous new year.

Old thread ^^
I've had a few stunted Autos and they all finished BUT where at least 2 weeks behind.

I know this is old so again my question is the same. Is it still going to want to flower at 30 days. I have a 12 yr old girl looks like 2 days but she’s healthy.
