18 spots, lazy? Plus all your old lights? :poof: You'll be growing trees.

LOL!!!
18 spots plus my two 240W BS LED's!!
Going to be using the BS LED's for supplemental lighting, going to get those lower bud sites on my Sannie's gear going!

I am not going to be using the HID's anymore, they cost too much to run as i need an AC to cool the room.
With the LED's only the heating and cooling system of the house will regulate the temps in the room, more savings!!

Now i need to find someone to sell my almost brand new CMH bulbs to!

:peace:

Your two bs leds will be as moonlight next to your new panels.

I have set one of the BS up as side lighting for my massive Killing Fields shrub!!
The other will be set up on the other side to really fill out the lower bud sites!
Should be a great haul!

That X2 is very very nice, but $185 is more than I want to spend. The promotions price, which ended February 22nd IIRC, was only $122. $158 total would have been a better price. Hopefully prices will go even lower soon, who knows how much they will drop with the advancement of technology. I think I would be willing to pay $135 total for one.

So I bought one of these instead: http://www.ebay.com/itm/135w-UFO-LE...556?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item416c8d4bd4

This might be the same one, but $7 cheaper: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Pro-135W-8B...375?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item337f8d3ba7

Differences: The angles are 90 and 120, but I'm using a SCROG, so it won't matter. They also don't have the replaceable/upgradeable light modules, which would have been nice, but probably won't affect me, or the X2 optic lens, which I'm not sure what it does. $103 total with fast shipping is extremely cheap, though. I think it's worth the lower quality, at least depending on whether you're doing something that won't need a lot of penetration. I've seen them go for as low as $90.

I'm going to do a grow log with these and will link you guys if I remember.

I'm pretty sure the X2 lens just concentrates the light like a magnifying glass. I wonder what the angular equivalency might be/why they didn't just reduce the angle further from 60, unless they're used on 90 degree leds. Some energy would likely be lost passing through a lens.

Another thing I wonder is whether for a scrog plants would grow better with a light diffused over their entire area or maybe half the area, but at twice the strength. Basically whether 60 degree leds would also work better for scrogs, things that don't have a deep canopy requiring penetration. Does anyone know whether this has been tested?

Interesting update!
The guy i have been dealing with at BSLED e mailed me and asked if i had any pictures of the lights growing marijuana.
Kind of an odd request from them...

Anyway lucky for me i am a licensed grower so posting images is safe.
I sent him a few and we will see what he comes back with!

You'll probably see your pics used for marketing... :joint:

Try and get a free light in exchange of a diary or hi-res pictures!!
