Thats why im running Timber's 200w Cree setup now. They are without a doubt the best. My Viparspectra was fun. Now its game on.

Has anyone used the COB LED grow lamps? Looking at the 1200w ones for my 5x5 just can't find any info on them

Hey brother, we have multiple options to check out COB grow lighting here on AFN! Pretty much all of these have documented grow journals with them so you can see actual results from our growers as well!
We have an amazing DIY forum section where a host of guys could help you build your own light!
We have Northern Grow Lights (@PhotonLabs ) on the forum and their rep could help you with their selection of DIY line as well.
We have Efficient Grow Lights (@BigSm0 ) with a 55 watt single hanging fixture that several can be added to make a spotlight array.
There's Amare Technology (@AMARE-TECH-Vic ) which get awesome reviews and their representative is always willing to talk lights and answer questions.
There's Tasty LED (@Tasty ) which are AMAZING lights brother, I've got their 4 cob T4 unit and it will likely never, ever leave my tent. Here's a few bud shots at 45 days from germ with my Tasty LED, taken today:
Lots of great options and things to check out! Not sure if it's possible to go wrong with any of these vendors or options, it's just finding what's good for your budget and you feel is going to work best for your needs.
Hey I'm thinking of picking up one of these, just wondering what you find makes it such a big upgrade from blurples?
got a 600w viparspectra and a 1200w king plus led. the 2 plants under the viper are growing slightly better than the 2 under the king. its my 1st indoor grow. in a 4' by 5'.
My opinion really. That's all. From Timber's outstandings service and help. Not to mention the lighting is all top shelf equipment... For the price, the only way to do better is piece it together yourself.

Used ViparSpectra 600 with very good results - but changed to Quantum Boards / COB hybrid build.
The Vipar is still a light i use but for flowering i went with this .....

It's 2.5 x as efficient and produces a much more useable spectrum of light for plants. Results speak for themselves.
I was going to replace a 400W HPS with the 200W kit of Crees to save on power, do you think they'd yield a similar amount?
