Good looking plants Doc, new and old. Not long now. The smell must be incredible. I've got the Gigabud too, autos for the next round though, I'd like to see the humidity drop a bit more in my area before starting photos. I'm leaning towards an Ace Seeds Thai hybrid over the winter. Nice picks on the next round, I could easily talk myself into something orange, maybe a pack of DP's Orange Hill Special. What is the finishing height on the four strains that are almost done?
The smell is so awesome, camaro. The BB and BBK have a similar smell, very berry, with BB having more pungent citrus this time and BBK leaning towards... cherry almost? Idk, it's a very pleasing and smooth scent. Complete opposite would be Euforia which is still bright citrus and pine. Really appreciate a bright smell as most of what I've grown lately is either berry or cheesey. The white widow is actually making the nicest buds at this point, but smells the least of the bunch. Smells just very sugary, unless I rub some, then it smells like Flinstones vitamins. Interested to see how they'll all cure up.
And for the final heights, measured from tip top cola to soil level:
Bluberry - 19"
White Widow - 21"
Euforia - 24"
Blackberry Kush - 24.5
Some pretty squat plants lol. Probably because I hit em with too much light early on when they were laying out their structure. Rough advice for autos: start the light far so they open up, then hit em with it when they show flowers so they stack a few internodes tightly.
Yeah I'm going back to photo plants because I had so many freebie seeds in my fridge. Figured 1 bright sativa (Tangie), 1 semi bright hybrid (Kosher Tangie), 1 semi dark hybrid (Blue OG), and finally one dark heavy indica (Gigabud). Should give a nice spread of different types of smoke, although it'll be a fun challenge keeping heights in check. Gonna grow out these babies and clone the hell out of em. Then shift this tent to dedicated flowering while the moms chill in a veg box I'm building. Figured that with varying flower times, eventually it'll go perpetual as different strains will be harvested and replaced at varying times. (Fuck... gotta actually get organized, maybe even keep a physical log *cringe*)
Stoked about Tangie because every review I come across talks about how delicious and incredibly real the tangerine taste is. They say for that reason that it's a great strain for doing extracts and concentrates.
A Thai hybrid would be cool, I've heard sativas from that part of the world are incredibly cerebral as far as effects go. Also tall AF. But you're no stranger to that, and I could see you scrogging it down on that nice screen.
There will be room for another strain in the future, and I'm hoping it'll be a good CBD strain. My GF's grandma could use it. We've already been baking her cookies for almost a year and she's doing so much better overall (appetite and pain being the big issues). Plus I have a few friends I share with... that's asking a lot of a 5 square foot space lol. So that's why I'm trying to go perpetual SOG.
I've measured, and the tent will be able to hold 20 x 1 gallon Root Pouches. I'm liking root pouches because of their proportions. They are just slightly taller than my 3 gallon Smartpots, despite the smaller volume. Plus they were super cheap and made from recycled fiber, so errbody wins.
With the future strains having such varying heights and flowering times, I think it will come down to learning when to take clones from each strain to even heights out. Like taking small, early sativa clones and larger, more mature indica clones. That, and just positioning them well in the tent. Idk, all theory at this point but I'm so stoked for the new operation.
Haven't even had coffee yet... lol good morning!
