Indoor LEC 315 + Dutch Passion Seeds

Day 28

End of week 4 and all the plants are looking happy. They've got a few scarred leaves, but they're carrying on.

A lot of my plants have deep red petioles, but I've never seen what the BBK is doing.

The red goes all into the veins of the leaves. Hopefully that means the buds will be colorful too!

And finally, a plant's-eye view with the tent closed.

Beatiful plants Dr! What bulb do you have in your LEC? I believe I have the 4200K.

That last picture.........I want one on those lights......if only I could buy it at US prices!. From what you guys discussed, you reckon one of these lights would be enough for a 120x120x200 cm room, is that correct?

Plants looking absolutely exuberant, surely down to the grower and not that pesky light......lol!

I'm using the 3100K.

The 930 denotes the 3100K, and I think 942 represents the 4200K.

And here's the long code on the side of the box. Guess it was made about a year ago.

I couldn't tell you which is better. The 930 is called Master GreenPower on the box and says Elite Agro under that. The 942 is Master Colour with a lamp code underneath. I just based my decision off their names. From the limited stuff I've seen out there, people do well with either.

Hey Corgy!
Thanks man! I don't know if that would be enough light on its own, but you would have plenty of height for it. I'm lighting 5 square feet, and camaro is working with 9. Your proposed tent comes in at 16 square feet, which based on my limited experience may be a lil too big. You could definitely run two in that space, or go for one of the new double bulb units. Then you could mix the bulbs! [emoji41]

But seriously, I'm inexperienced with this light at this point, and there's not much information out there.

Both bulbs are excellent. The 4200 is supposed to produce a leafier, bushier plant. Corgy these do throw a significant amount of heat, we've both struggled with heat issues. I am installing an a/c in the room to keep temps down and supplement with CO2 which helps to battle higher temps. 40 inches headroom is needed above your tops, 30 to the canopy plus 10 for the unit itself. I've been a sucker for Scrogging from the start which helps keep height down of course, and the yields are amazing. Popcorn belongs in a movie theater not a growroom, LOL. I'm comfortable lighting up a 4x4 to see what happens and I will when I move. The manufacter does recommend a 3x3, and I built my first box to a 4x3 for scrog leaving room for the pots. Had some pics up before the update, but the links are probably dead. I'll dig em up and repost here if you don't mind Dr. Got my Promix and the Sensizyme today, so I'll get a journal of my own going. Just transferred the little Widow into a 10 gal dirtpot in fact and threw a cup of water on it. Starting Tang's schedule tomorrow, days 10-15, 5 ml each Grow A + B and the Voodoo juice.

Only thing I think is not so good(maybe I don't see right) is light distance from plants, should be around 50cm for best intensity at a 12/12 cycle. Maybe 60cm for a 18/6 or shorted nights.

Camaro,

You should check out my scrog journal growing photo plants in this same tent. It was easily my best grow. No stranger to scrogging, but I've never done it with autos. I get too anxious because they're like bottle rockets to me - light em up, watch them go. I've seen it done, but I'm happy to let my autos go all natural. If they crowd, then maybe I'll LST.

I found out the hard way that ~50-60cm is too close for my *specific* setup. Small reflective tent plus using a strong light equaled stressed out young plants. If you have a bigger space, maybe then those distances would be more appropriate. But my tent is like a cooltube. Maybe I'll expand the space in the future.

But that's the fun of this grow - adventure! I spend a lot of time staring into my tent and hanging with my plants. I try to observe what little tweaks and adjustments do over time. So far, raising the light to ~75cm has made them happy, which means I'm happy. No weird stretching and there's plenty of bud sites and pistils, so I don't think they're being deprived or anything.

Speaking of tweaks and adjustmemts... check out this dope ass life hack...

Cut a hole in an open box to redirect cool AC air along the wall into a corner where the tent is. I keep the fan of my central AC on all the time, so cool air from downstairs is constantly flowing.

The back of the tent is almost flush with the wall but tilted so it draws air only from that corner. Got a thermometer in the path of air travel so I can get an idea of my intake temps. One cool thing about this setup is that even with the tent wide open, the plants are getting ventilated with cool air.

Plus now I have a grill!

Good Morning Doc! I cracked another PE last weekend and it just showed this morning. So slight change in plans. Was supposed to give this to a friend, but I'm gonna lay it down next to the little Widow in scrog. The big Widow and the Love Potion will be staying outside. They seem happy there and I'd really like to go start to finish under the LEC from seed. Your plants are nice and bushy, those big fan leaves should really support some big buds. Need to start a journal, but where? My last was in the lighting section because there were no LEC journals. I think I was missing some traffic there though. Well done DIY on the ventilation. Smart. Functional. Gonna work up some screens this afternoon. A screen on rollers for the pots so I can roll it out and another above for the scrog. Good looking kebab, i always burn the tomatoes and they fall off when I flip.

Morning Camaro!

Sounds like a good plan dude. I was kinda worried about you bringing those outdoor plants back in. No telling what little critters have taken up residence in those pots.

Stoked for your journal, as far as what section you should go to... no idea. I thought this section would be good for this journal, but it's kinda quiet. But if you update regularly and include pictures, people will show up. I think it's also because these LEC's are relatively unheard of. On some forums, I've seen people try to correct others, "LEC bro? You mean LED, blah blah." And LEDs are very popular now, for good reason. I love growing with them, just wanted to try something different with replaceable bulbs.

Even if you don't get traffic or posts and whatnot, there's gonna be somebody out there who lurks your pages and learns a thing or two.

I'm addicted to kebabs now. So fun to make/eat. Been getting creative with some miso and beer glazes. I grew those cherry tomatoes lol!

Let me know how the screens turn out. They sound cool.
