Hey Earthjuice crystal guys - I just spotted this for a rough measurement guide form kind soils for those of you that are doing the hokey kokey with it :D

Might help for a rough application (obviously depends how hard or soft your water is)
I hate screwing with anything and this is why I used distilled water the whole grow

Distilled water can not be ph'd I do not even Test it cause the reading will be false.

Hmmm - perhaps it wasn't distilled! I'll take another look at the label tonight. Maybe srping water (had a ph of 6.2 according to the label, but read at 6.0)

edit: Good call ripster - just found the description at Tesco

Still natural mineral water.

This pure, refreshing Ashbeck Natural Mineral Water is sourced from the rolling hills of Eden Valley on the edge of the Lake District, in a protected Special Area of Conservation. The water flows deep below ground through rocks dating back millions of years. These ancient rocks naturally filter each drop of Ashbeck water and enrich it with minerals to give a clear, refreshing taste.

I use baking soda for ph up and use it to adjust when I ph too low. Never had an issue and I believe it buffers the water too as my ph is always very stable when I use Baking soda.

It was always my impression that you should never combine up and down. Im pretty sure I read it. If I go too far down I usually add more water or some silica to raise it back up. Is it actually OK to use up and down in the same batch??

you don't ph distilled/RO water until you've added cal/mag or nutes. I do it 2-3 times a week.
I never added any cal mag during my grow.. Only screw up had was using a bad ph up when I used tap one time cause I was to lazy to go get distilled water at the store.. I used flavorful to ph up.. Dumb it burned some leaves

Moved the seedlings to the greenhouse today. The last couple days have been crazy...... So far, they are looking good. A bit stretched from the growlight they were under, but they'll do fine from here on out. All seedling are still pretty close in size and development. Can't wait to see what they look like a week from now!
