If I'm using the water right away, i use lemon juice. If i need it stable for more than 2-3 days, I use ph down. I'm not buying it than one is any better than the other! But if you want organic, lemon juice or vinegar works wells. A bottle of lemon juice cost me 99 cents.....

I tried mixing a tbsp of crystals in a 3oz bottle of water and using drops but that didn't pan out either. 4 jems in cups 2singles with tails 2 no tails same cup

My seedlings are doing well. The light they are under seems to be having issues. I've used it many times without problem, but it seems like it has weakened, the plants are very stretched. I'll cure that today, they are going to the greenhouse! And I don't do the plant shuffle known as hardening off.......out they go! lol!

I used lemon juice a few times. I can't remember the name of it but it had lemon oil in it. It actually stayed stable for a couple days. The cheaper stuff does start to lose fairly quick

I've used lemon juice too, it should be safe for the bennies in the diluted amounts used.

Also I'm seeing what y'all're saying about the Earth Juice crystals being difficult to titrate. My first use the other day was perfect, I just winged it and hit 6.3 the first time. The second time was a fight, used a pinch again, not enough. Used a smidgen, wayyyy too much lol. Great... Now I have to use the other bottle to get it back up. And I went up and down for 30 minutes just pH'ing one feeding lol. Finally got it right, but it is definitely going to take some practice to get smooth.

It was always my impression that you should never combine up and down. Im pretty sure I read it. If I go too far down I usually add more water or some silica to raise it back up. Is it actually OK to use up and down in the same batch??

I've always been wary of the down and up and down and up PH dance - thinking it's way too much acid and alkaline to do any good

You guys could get some Rhizotonic - its a fishy root stim that I use to correct a slightly over enthusiastic PH down application. It brings it back up a bit (not loads - but enough if you're just over) and has the fishy benfit of helping your roots and plant health.

Although in a water only test i guess this might be considered cheating?

Something for the future maybe :D

Hey Earthjuice crystal guys - I just spotted this for a rough measurement guide form kind soils for those of you that are doing the hokey kokey with it :D

but you can adjust your tap with no issues just use earth juice crystals. its used very sparingly i generally use 1/4tsp for 15 gallons to take the water from 7.5-6.6 range so if you were adjusting something small like a single gallon you'd literally be using like 10 earth juice crystals or something extremely small

Might help for a rough application (obviously depends how hard or soft your water is)
